There are many different reasons to target a player with a home run prop, and that’s on full display on Wednesday. We are targeting a couple of this year’s home run leaders, as well as a couple of players who have suddenly caught fire after slow starts and have favorable pitching matchups on Wednesday.
Hopefully, that versatility leads to some wins.

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the three players we’re locked in on.
We missed on Murakami yesterday, but we’re going to try again with the American League’s home run leader. He was hitless on Tuesday with two walks, but Murakami still has six hits, including two home runs, over his last five games. Murakami has gone three games since his last home run, and he’s rarely had a drought longer than that this season.
The matchup against Seattle’s Emerson Hancock is also an interesting one. Murakami homered against Hancock when the White Sox played the Mariners earlier this month. Also, Hancock has given up eight home runs this season, which is a lot for a pitcher with a 3.02 ERA. He’s been most vulnerable against left-handed hitters, which points to Murakami taking him deep again.

Marte has had a rough start to the season, hitting just .222 right now. But he hit a walk-off home run on Tuesday, continuing a recent hot streak. Marte has seven hits in his five games, with three multi-hit games during that stretch, so we’re going to take a chance on a good hitter who appears to be heating up.
It doesn’t hurt that Marte and the Diamondbacks face Tyler Mahle, who has given up nine home runs in 2026. He’s struggling this year with a 5.59 ERA and has been particularly vulnerable against the long ball. The kicker is that Marte is 5 for 9 with two doubles and a home run in his career against Mahle. Given that track record, Marte is worth a flier on Wednesday.

After hitting nine home runs in April, Alvarez has just three home runs in May, so his power has dissipated. But he does have two home runs in his last six games, showing that his power hasn’t disappeared completely. In fact, based on his power in April, Alvarez is due for a strong finish in May, so more home runs could be on the horizon for him.
Surprisingly, the Astros' facing Joe Ryan on Wednesday favors Alvarez. He’s 4 for 15 in his career against Ryan, but three of those four hits have been home runs. That’s a surprising stat, but something about Ryan helps Alvarez tap into his power, which is why we’re targeting him to go deep.

We may be late to the party with Bichette, but we’re still going to try striking while the iron is hot. His dismal start to the season has completely turned around in the span of two days. Over the first two games of a series against the Nationals, Bichette is 5 for 10 with three home runs, so if he can keep it going for one more day, it’s worth targeting Bichette to hit another home run on Wednesday.
It’s even easier to believe that Bichette can keep it going with Zack Littell starting for the Nationals. Littell has pitched to a 6.10 ERA this season, while giving up 14 home runs in just 41.1 innings. Bichette is 6 for 14 with a home run and a double in his career against Littell, so there are a lot of signs pointing to Bichette staying red-hot.
