July has arrived, and there is a heat wave sweeping the country, so there is no mistaking that summer has arrived. Since the weather is so hot, we decided to keep things simple and target some of the hottest hitters in the league to hit home runs on Wednesday. It might sound lazy, but if the weather is going to stay hot, it’s safe to assume these red-hot hitters will as well.

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the players we’re locked in on.
Until Caminero’s home run streak comes to an end, there is every reason to keep betting that he’ll go deep. Caminero was 2 for 5 on Tuesday, hitting a home run for the fifth straight game. He now has eight home runs in his last seven games, and as long as his odds are +200 or better, there is value in betting on Caminero to keep that streak going.
The kicker is that Caminero and the Rays are facing Seth Lugo on Wednesday. Lugo faced the Rays in his last start and gave up three home runs, two of which were hit by Caminero. He’s now 3 for 6 with two home runs in his career against Lugo, who gave up three home runs in a game twice in June. Thus, everything is pointing toward another Caminero home run on Wednesday.

Outside of Caminero, Goodman might be the hottest power hitter in baseball right now. He also had a three-homer game in the last week, giving Colorado’s catcher five home runs in his last five games. Goodman is now up to 26 home runs on the season, making him tied for second for the league lead.
Goodman also has a strong track record against Miami’s Max Meyer, who starts against the Rockies on Wednesday. It’s a small sample size, but Goodman is 4 for 6 with two home runs against Meyer. While Meyer has had a great season, pitching to a 2.60 ERA, that history with Goodman is troubling, making the catcher a good home run target.

Marte isn’t quite in Caminero territory yet, but he’s hit a home run in four straight games. Even with that streak, he has a modest 17 home runs on the season. But he has enough of a track record as a power hitter to believe he can keep that streak going for another couple of days, which is why we’ll gladly take the +430 odds on him to go deep on Wednesday.
Naturally, Marte has a favorable pitching matchup on Wednesday against San Francisco’s Trevor McDonald. It’s a small sample size, but Marte is 3 for 5 against the young righty. All four home runs that McDonald has given up this year over 51 innings have been hit by left-handed hitters, while most of the switch-hitting Marte’s homers have been hit against right-handed pitchers.

Chourio isn’t as hot as some hitters, but he’s getting there. After all, he missed the first six weeks of the season, but caught fire in June, hitting 10 home runs last month. More recently, Chourio has at least one hit in six of his last seven games, a stretch that includes two home runs in his last four games.
On the season, Chourio is batting .333 with a .579 slugging percentage against lefties, making Wednesday’s matchup with Andrew Abbott a favorable one for him. Again, it’s a small sample size, but Chourio is 3 for 7 with two home runs in his career against Abbott. The lefty has allowed 15 home runs this year, 12 of which have been hit by right-handed batters. He gave up three home runs in his last start, and Chourio is a great candidate to take him deep on Wednesday.
