Best MLB Home Run Predictions Today: Limited Schedule is Good News for Left-Handed Sluggers
Monday isn’t officially Left-Handers Day, but it might as well be. All four of our home run targets are left-handed hitters. We didn’t do that on purpose, but with a limited number of games, we had fewer choices. It just turns out that there are some familiar left-handed hitters who have excellent matchups on Monday, and we’re looking to take advantage of that.

Home Run Picks for Monday, July 6
There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the players we’re locked in on.
James Wood Anytime Home Run (+250) at FanDuel Sportsbook
Wood and the Nationals face Houston’s Mike Burrows on Monday. Burrows has quickly become one of the pitchers we like to pick on when selecting home run targets. That’s because Burrows has allowed 19 home runs in just 90.1 innings this season, contributing to his 5.58 ERA.
Left-handed hitters, in particular, have crushed Burrows, slugging .569, while being responsible for 13 of the 19 home runs he’s allowed. The Nationals have a few left-handed or switch-hitting sluggers who might be good candidates. But Wood has 10 hits in his last seven games, including three home runs, so he’s in a nice groove and looks like a good bet to add to his total of 23 home runs this year.

Kyle Schwarber Anytime Home Run (+250) at FanDuel Sportsbook
With an MLB-leading 30 home runs, Schwarber is always a good candidate for a home run prop. On Monday, his odds are surprisingly lucrative - at least for him - at +250, largely because the Phillies are facing lefty Noah Cameron. However, lefty-on-lefty matchups haven’t bothered Schwarber this season, as his average and slugging percentage are higher against southpaws than right-handed pitchers.
Schwarber is also 1 for 3 with a home run in his career against Cameron. Likewise, Cameron has reverse splits, as left-handed hitters are batting .316 and slugging .532 against him, noticeably better numbers than right-handed hitters. In that sense, it’s almost better to target Schwarber against a left-handed pitcher, as he searches for his first home run of July.

Matt Olson Anytime Home Run (+310) at FanDuel Sportsbook
On Friday, Olson snapped a 14-game home run drought by hitting two long balls. That was part of a weekend in which he went 4 for 13 with three extra-base hits. Those are all signs that he’s ready to start hitting home runs more regularly again, adding to his impressive season total of 22.
Olson and the Braves are also facing a vulnerable Freddy Peralta on Monday. Peralta has been a mess, posting a 6.39 ERA in June and giving up five runs over four innings in his first start in July. Also, 12 of the 13 home runs he’s allowed this year have been hit by left-handed hitters. With Olson being 4 for 13 with a home run in his career against Peralta, Atlanta’s first baseman is a great home run target on Monday.

Rafael Devers Anytime Home Run (+420) at FanDuel Sportsbook
With 18 home runs on the season, it’s crazy to think that Devers had just two at the end of April. Following a two-homer game on Sunday, Devers now has six home runs in his last eight games, including a pair of multi-homer games. With a nine-game hitting streak on top of that, Devers is raging hot and the exact type of hitter to target.
Monday’s matchup with Toronto’s Kevin Gausman also plays in his favor. Devers is 11 for 33 with eight extra-base hits, including one home run, in his career against Gausman. The kicker is that Gausman has allowed at least one home run in six straight starts, giving up nine home runs during that stretch, making him particularly vulnerable to the long ball right now.
