The Tar Heels are playing for the second time in three days. This time, they’re at home on Monday, February 26, against the Miami Hurricanes.
On Saturday, February 24, the Tar Heels went into John Paul Jones Arena to battle the Cavaliers. They won 54-44, generating 10 points and 12 rebounds of production from Armando Bacot. They also trounced the Virginia Tech Hokies, 96-81, a week prior at home.
This season, the Tar Heels are 11-1 at home and will look to fend off the Hurricanes, who are 15-13 on the year and just 2-7 on the road.
More on this matchup below.
This February 26 matchup marks the second one this season between the Tar Heels and Hurricanes. The last one came just over two weeks ago in Miami, with the Tar Heels pulling off a close 75-72 win.
Back at home, the Tar Heels are 13.5-point favorites.
In that game, Bacot had 10 points and 15 rebounds, while superstar guard RJ Davis had 25 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

As mentioned, the Tar Heels enter this game after back-to-back double-digit victories over the Hokies and Cavaliers. The Hokies game was played in Chapel Hill and had a margin of victory of 15, while the Tar Heels managed a 10-point win as 2.5-point favorites on the road against the Cavaliers.
Here, they host Miami (FL), who they defeated on February 10 in Miami 75-72. Miami (FL) is also on a six-game losing streak, losing to Virginia, UNC, Clemson, Boston College, Duke, and Georgia Tech. The Georgia Tech loss is notable as they were approximately eight-point favorites.
Their last win came on February 3 at home against the Hokies, 82-74.
Also, at 2-7 on the road this season, their last road win was on January 24 against Notre Dame, 73-61.
A good chunk of their losing streak has come with the absence of Nijel Pack. He last played on February 14, and they’re missing out on his 13.7 points per game.
Miami (FL) made the Final Four last year, so to be 15-13 and 6-11 in conference play has been a letdown.
While the Tar Heels have had some ups-and-downs over their past few games, they match up well against a Hurricanes offense that shoots 36.7% from a three-point range (40th). The Tar Heels hold opponents to 29.9% from that range (18th).

While this is an excellent matchup for the Tar Heels, especially at home, 13.5 points is a lot of points. This Miami team has their backs against the wall. The status of Pack remains up in the air. If he plays, that would be massive for them.
The Tar Heels will win this game, but even at home, 13.5 is too much.
