The Mohegan Sun complex has been one of the biggest casinos in Connecticut for almost 30 years, and it’s also online for players in CT, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The platforms are a little different depending on which state you’re in, and we’ve decided to ask our experts to complete a full review of the NJ site – the latest addition to the market.
We’re covering everything you need to know about Mohegan Sun. We’ve got details on online casino games, software, payment methods, customer support, security, and more. Plus, we’re going to explain exactly what bonuses are up for grabs for new players, and how you can claim them right now.
Everything you need to get started at Mohegan Sun is right here.
Mohegan Sun is operating in a crowded market in New Jersey, and carving out a niche for themselves and attracting players is never a simple task. One of the best methods to do so is with welcome offers and other promotions, and Mohegan Sun has lots of interesting promos on the books. We’re covering them all in this section.
The Mohegan Sun welcome bonus is a familiar offer, but a good one. Your first deposit is eligible for a 100% boost, worth up to a maximum of $1,000. That means you’ll get to start with double your bankroll.
Everything you deposit up to $1,000 is eligible for the bonus, meaning this offer is especially valuable for anyone prepared to spend a decent chunk up front. It’s an impressive limit, and certainly on the higher end of the scale for other NJ sites. For comparison, Parx Casino’s similar offer maxes out at $750.
The downside here is in the wagering requirements attached to bonus cash, which start at 30x for all slots, and 150x for table games. It means you’re basically guaranteed to be playing for a considerable amount of time before you’ll actually be able to withdraw any winnings from your bonus.
It’s still a great offer, but it would be even more valuable if that turnover was reduced a little – at the moment it’s average at best for NJ sites.

There’s no promo code required to unlock the welcome bonus at Mohegan Sun. Instead, everyone qualifies as soon as you create your account, and the bonus will be automatically applied to your first deposit.
This promo is open once a day to everyone with a Mohegan Sun account. Head to your account and click the “Redeem” button to claim your prize, which is randomly awarded each day.
The prizes available range from bonus cash prizes (with wagering requirements attached) to entries into the weekly $1,500 giveaway. The top bonus prize is an incredible $3,000,000 in bonus cash, but your odds of winning that are pretty slim. Much more attainable are the regular prizes: $1, $2, $5, $50 and $10,000. It’s not life-changing, but it’s a solid boost.
You can accumulate multiple entries into the $1,500 draw, with 110 players splitting the prize pool between them.
All in all, we like these promos a lot for the regularity and the fact that everyone qualifies. It’s a smart way for Mohegan Sun to encourage players to log in each day, making it a win-win for us and them.
Stellar Rewards is the name of Mohegan Sun’s loyalty program, where you can earn everything from increased deposit limits to free stays in casino resorts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Every time you wager real money on the site you earn Stellar Points, at a rate of 1 SP per $1 on slots, $2 on roulette, and $4 on blackjack or video poker. As you earn more points you climb through the ranks of the program, with 5 levels in total. Each level unlocks new benefits.
You can also redeem your points for cash, once you’ve earned 1,150 SPs. You unlock more favorable rates as you climb too.
Maybe the most interesting thing about the program is the fact that you can earn discounts and comps at a variety of casinos on the East Coast: Resorts in Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun complexes in both PA and CT. It’s cool to have a variety of options and might give you a chance to visit new casinos and parts of the country you otherwise wouldn’t experience.
Be warned though: the best comps are reserved for tiers four and five, which require 200,000 SPs, meaning effectively only seriously high rollers.
Mohegan Sun is a casino complex located at Mohegan Sun Blvd, Uncasville, CT 06382, owned and run by the Mohegan tribe since it was founded in 1996. It is, along with Foxwoods operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the biggest casino resort of its type in Connecticut, and has considerable influence throughout the state.
The tribe is the owner of the Connecticut Sun, the pro-WNBA team who plays out of the Mohegan Sun arena located within the complex. In 2005, Mohegan Sun opened its first resort outside of CT, at Pocono Downs Racetrack in Pennsylvania.
Multiple expansions and improvements have also been made to the original property over the years, most recently the opening of the $139 million The Earth Tower.
Mohegan Sun’s online activities have been more recent, launching their first platform in 2015 via a partnership with Resorts Atlantic City. Today, versions of the online casino are available in NJ, PA, and CT.
There are roughly 700 casino games in total at Mohegan Sun, making it above average for casinos in NJ. All the most popular categories are covered including slots, virtual table games, and live games. There are some bits to improve too though, and we’re covering everything below.
Mohegan Sun has a great selection of slots, powered by a selection of different software providers like NetEnt, IGT, and Big Time Gaming. Brand new releases get added to the catalog all the time, but there are also classics like Starburst, Dead or Alive, Cleopatra, and more.
Every game we played themselves worked perfectly for us, both on desktop and mobile. However, the software of the platform, in general, does feel a little outdated, as if it hasn’t had much of an update since Mohegan Sun created its online platform in 2015. An update would be nice.
The slots menu does have separate tabs for jackpot slots and Megaways, which we like to see.
There are 40 table games on the menu in total, plus an additional 15 games in the video poker section. It’s an impressive and deep selection, including loads of types of blackjack, casino stud, keno, baccarat, roulette, and more. There is also a good selection of Slingo games.
Scratch cards aren’t exactly a specialty, but there were four different games available during our Mohegan Sun review, including Medusa and Merlins Millions.
The live casino at Mohegan Sun is powered by Evolution, one of the most popular designers of live software out there – and one of the best.
There are nine separate live blackjack tables running at Mohegan Sun, as well as Infinite Blackjack which is a twist that allows unlimited people to play at the same time. There are also a couple of VIP tables, for higher stakes gamblers.
Again, there are lots of good roulette options available. As well as regular American Roulette, there is an Auto-Roulette table that doesn’t feature a real dealer, and Lightning Roulette, which adds special jackpots to certain numbers. Plus, there’s a special table beamed live from Resorts Atlantic City, which sticks you right in the action of other players in real life.
Mohegan Sun has a couple of live baccarat tables, plus live three-card poker, live ultimate texas hold’em, and some unique Evolution creations: Side Bet City and Dream Catcher. Overall, it’s a great selection of live games, one of the better menus in New Jersey.
Mohegan Sun NJ sadly currently doesn’t have a sportsbook as part of its online platform.
You’ll find a different app for Mohegan Sun for each state it’s available in, both for iPhone and Android. You can get them from the Google Play Store or App Store, or find download links from the Mohegan Sun site. The app feels superior to the desktop site in general, more modern, and slicker to use.
The Connecticut apps are especially impressive and are extremely popular with local users. It’s currently rated at 4.5/5 on Google Play, and 4.7/5 on the App Store, from a combined total of almost 5,000 reviews.
These scores are head and shoulders above the average for rival gambling apps in this part of the world.
As we said, there are a lot of options out there for gambling fans on the East Coast. Here’s how Mohegan Sun compared to some other top online casinos.
|Casino||Mohegan Sun||Pala Casino||Harrah’s Casion|
|Bonus||100% welcome bonus up to $1,000||$25 no deposit bonus + boosts on your first three deposits||$10 free on sign-up + 100% first deposit bonus|
|States Licenced In||NJ, CT, PA||New Jersey||New Jersey|
Here is the full list of options.
The banking process at Mohegan Sun is solid, with a good range of options supported for both deposits and withdrawals. The casino never charges fees for any transactions, which is great to see. Most methods have a $10 minimum deposit rule, while you need to withdraw at least $100 with PayPal.
Mohegan Sun isn’t doing anything radically different from most NJ casinos but it’s doing everything well, and the score we’re giving it here reflects that.
The withdrawal timeframe at Mohegan Sun is good, better than a lot of its competitors. As with most casinos, there is a pending period for all withdrawals. We’re not big fans of this – it’s basically an artificial addition in case you want to cancel your withdrawal in the intervening time – but 72 hours is shorter than many places.
Depending on your withdrawal method, you can get your money immediately after the pending period. PayPal and Resorts Card withdrawals are released immediately, meaning you can get your winnings within 3 days total.
We’re giving Mohegan Sun a great score for customer support. The Help Center is very detailed, with tons of articles on a variety of topics. If you want to get in touch with someone directly, that’s easy too.
You can get 24-hour email support at [email protected].
Toll-free phone support is available at 1-800-407-9167 from 8 am to 12 am.
Or the live chat box is available in the Help Section, with the same hours as the phone line.
Mohegan Sun is a huge name in East Coast gambling and has been for decades. In more recent times it has even expanded as far as South Korea. Playing at a big-name casino – even in its online iteration – brings with it a certain security and gravitas that gives you peace of mind.
The casino uses SSL encryption technology to protect the data it houses on the site, which you can read about in the Terms and Conditions section.
The software providers that create the games at Mohegan Sun-like NetEnt and IGT – have their games independently tested and accredited for fairness.
Mohegan Sun is fully licensed by the necessary regulatory bodies in each state it operates in. These state bodies are tasked with monitoring and regulating all activity of the casino, and they are a legal requirement for any casino accepting players.

Our experts also include some points of potential improvement with their reviews, and their first suggestion, in this case, was with the desktop software. Compared with the mobile site, Mohegan Sun NJ’s platform just feels a little old-fashioned, with loading screens and unexciting visuals.
It’s a shame because the games themselves and the rest of the features are great. A redesign would benefit the site a lot.
Outside of that, the wagering requirements starting at 30x for the welcome bonus is a little steep.
Lots of NJ casinos – like Pala Casino and Parx Casino for example – include a no deposit bonus element to their welcome offer, but for now, that’s not the case with Mohegan Sun. It would be a nice addition.
Mohegan Sun is doing a lot of things really well. The gaming menu is great, with a lot of variety that keeps things interesting across the board. The diversity in the live dealer section alone is a reason to sign up for our book.
The $1,000 welcome bonus is impressive (even taking into account those slightly high turnover conditions we mentioned), and we love the fact that you can win prizes in real brick-and-mortar casinos in three states.
The withdrawal process is above average for NJ sites, and the customer support options are excellent.
All in all, it’s an impressive combination. Hit our sign-up links to try out Mohegan Sun for yourself, along with your 100% deposit bonus.
