Mackenzie Dern | TALE OF THE TAPE | Yan Xionan |
29 | Age | 33 |
5 ft. 4 in. | Height | 5 ft. 5 in. |
63 in. | Reach | 63 in. |
12-2 | Record | 15-3, 1 no-contest |
Ranked at number five in the strawweight division and number 13 in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings, Mackenzie Dern is actually just 1-1 in her last two fights.
After winning four in a row, Dern dropped a decision to Marina Rodriguez. In her most recent fight against Tecia Torres and UFC 273, Dern found herself on the right side of a split decision.
The grappling ace is now 7-2 in the UFC.
Her opponent, Yan Xiaonan, is ranked sixth in the division despite having lost her last two fights.
After winning six in a row, Yan suffered a TKO loss at the hands of Carla Esparza. She followed that performance with a unanimous decision loss to Marina Rodriguez at UFC 272 this past March.
Despite standing one inch taller, Yan will be at a significant disadvantage when it comes to grappling as Mackenzie Dern is a highly decorated black belt in the world of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Dern is currently listed as a -250 favorite.

Francisco Trinaldo | TALE OF THE TAPE | Randy Brown |
44 | Age | 32 |
5 ft. 8 in. | Height | 6 ft. 3 in. |
70 in. | Reach | 78 in. |
28-8 | Record | 15-4 |
At 44 years old, Francisco Trinaldo is the oldest fighter on the main card – but don’t let that fool you. Trinaldo has won his last two fights – most recently defeating Danny Roberts at UFC 274 in May.
Randy Brown is also enjoying a winning streak, having won his last three straight. He too last fought at UFC 274 – earning a split-decision win over Khaos Williams.
The size difference is the biggest factor here, as Brown will stand seven inches taller and will have an eight-inch reach advantage.
Both men hold brown belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu but the size advantage leads to Brown being listed as the -340 favorite.

Raoni Barcelos | TALE OF THE TAPE | Trevin Jones |
35 | Age | 32 |
5 ft. 7 in. | Height | 5 ft. 7 in. |

Both Raoni Barcelos and Trevin Jones have lost two fights in a row and both are looking to find their way back into the win column this Saturday.
Barcelos has lost back-to-back decisions, most recently to Victor Henry this past January.
After a submission loss in 2021, Jones most recently dropped a unanimous decision to Javid Basharat this past March.
Both of these fighters stand at an equal height of 6-feet but it is Jones that will have the three-inch reach advantage.
Sodiq Yusuff | TALE OF THE TAPE | Don Shainis |
29 | Age | 31 |
5 ft. 9 in. | Height | 5 ft. 6 in. |
71 in. | Reach | 66.5 in. |
12-2 | Record | 12-3 |
Cage Titans featherweight champion Don Shainis makes his UFC debut Saturday against Sodiq Yusuff – who is 5-1 with the promotion.
Shainis is currently riding a five-fight professional winning streak.
Yusuff suffered his first UFC loss last April but bounced back in his most recent bout – defeating Alex Caceres by unanimous decision this past March.
Yusuff will have a three-inch advantage in height as well as an impressive 4.5-inch advantage in reach. Listed at -1200, he is the largest betting favorite on the main card.
John Castaneda | TALE OF THE TAPE | Daniel Santos |
30 | Age | 27 |
5 ft. 6 in. | Height | 5 ft. 7 in. |
71 in. | Reach | 67 in. |
19-5 | Record | 9-2 |
After losing his UFC debut in 2020, John Castaneda has now won back-to-back fights over Eddie Wineland and, most recently, Miles Johns – whom he submitted back in February.
Daniel Santos made his UFC debut in April but was on the losing end of a unanimous decision against Julio Arce. He is looking for his first win for the promotion.
Santos stands one-inch taller than his opponent but Castaneda will have a four-inch reach advantage.
Castaneda is a -210 favorite at the time of writing.
Mike Davis | TALE OF THE TAPE | Vlacheslav Borshchev |
29 | Age | 30 |
6 ft. | Height | 5 ft. 11 in. |
72.5 in. | Reach | 69 in. |
9-2 | Record | 6-2 |
Vlacheslav Borshchev has fought twice in the UFC after his knockout win on the Contender Series in 2021. He has gone 1-1 for the promotion – most recently losing a decision to Marc Diakiese in March.
Mike Davis has won his last two in a row. His most recent win was a fight-of-the-night decision over Mason Jones. However, that fight took place in January 2021 and he hasn’t fought since.
Despite the layoff, Davis is listed at -200 over his opponent – whom he has both a height and reach advantage over.
