Going strong at 43 years old, Glover Teixeira looks to regain the light heavyweight championship in his home country of Brazil.

After five wins in a row, Teixeira was given the title shot against then-champion Jan Blachowicz - whom he defeated in the second round by submission.

He then took on Jiri Prochazka at UFC 275 last June. In what was named the fight of the year for 2022, Teixeira lost the title in the dying seconds of the fifth-round via submission.

Teixeira was set to rematch Prochazka, but the latter suffered a severe shoulder injury and vacated the championship.

Jamahal Hill will take on Teixeira for the vacant title this Saturday.

With a win, Hill would become the first fighter from the Dana White Contender Series to hold a UFC championship.

Hill is riding a three-fight winning streak, having most recently defeated former title challenger Thiago Santos by fourth-round TKO last August.

In what will be a UFC record, Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno will fight for the flyweight championship for the fourth consecutive time.

Coming into the bout as the undisputed champion, Figueiredo's last three fights all came against Moreno. The two fighters both have a record against each other of 1-1-1.

Following his third fight against Figueiredo in which he lost the title, Moreno fought once more against Kai Kara-France last July. He won the bout via TKO - earning him the interim flyweight championship.

Moreno has the physical advantage in this contest. He is younger, taller, and has a longer reach.

Both men hold black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

A former welterweight title challenger, number-five ranked Gilbert Burns is looking to get back into the win column after suffering a ‘fight of the night’ unanimous decision loss to Khamzat Chimaev last April.

He takes on the number-twelve ranked Neil Magny, who is coming off of a third-round submission win over Daniel Rodriguez which earned him a performance of the night bonus.

Magny is the taller fighter and will out-reach Burns by nine inches, but the power in Burns’ hands and his black belt credentials in Brazilian jiu-jitsu can never be counted out.

As the second-biggest betting favorite on the card, Burns is listed as a -500 to win.

Jessica Andrade vs. Lauren Murphy - Women’s Flyweight Division

A former strawweight champion and flyweight title contender, Jessica Andrade has been splitting her time recently between the two divisions. She has won her last two fights - one at flyweight against Cynthia Calvillo and one at strawweight against Amanda Lemos.

She takes another former flyweight title challenger in Lauren Murphy. After five straight wins, Murphy was granted a title shot against Valentina Shevchenko but lost.

She bounced back into the win column with her most recent fight - a unanimous decision win over former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate last July.

Andrade’s grappling advantage will be tested against Murphy’s size advantage in both height and reach. But the former champion is still listed as the biggest betting favorite on the main card, listed at -530.

Paul Craig vs. Johnny Walker - Light Heavyweight Division

16-5-1

Record

19-7

Coming off his first loss since 2019, Paul Craig recently had his five-fight winning streak (with a no-contest mixed in) snapped due to a unanimous decision loss to Volkan Oezdemir last July.

The once-hyped Johnny Walker is still in the process of reinventing himself. The Brazilian fighter is just 2-4 over his last six fights but recently submitted Ion Cutelaba in the first round of their UFC 279 bout last September.

Although Walker hails from Brazil, it is Paul Craig who boasts a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu - with 13 of his 16 professional wins coming by way of submission.

However, Walker will be the taller fighter and enjoy a significant reach advantage of six inches.
