Sean Strickland | TALE OF THE TAPE | Abus Magomedov |

26-5 | Record | 25-4-1 |
After three canceled fights, Abus Magomedov finally made his UFC debut last September, where he defeated Dustin Stoltzfus via TKO in just 19 seconds.
Since then, Magomedov has had two more canceled fights and now finds himself in the main event against the number-7 ranked middleweight, Sean Strickland, in what will be just his second fight with the promotion. Check out current UFC Rankings for weight classes and pound-for-pound greatest fighter!
Strickland is coming off of a big win over Nassourdine Imavov that took place this past January. Strickland won this fight via unanimous decision. It was a big win for the middleweight as he had suffered back-to-back losses prior to the Imavov bout. To learn more about weight classes, read our guide to women's & men's UFC weight classes.
Fighting out of Germany, Magomedov will stand one-inch taller and will have a reach advantage over Strickland of two-inches.
However, with more UFC and top-tier opponent experience, Strickland will enter Saturday’s main event as the -150 favorite.

Damir Ismagulov | TALE OF THE TAPE | Grant Dawson |
32 | Age | 29 |
5 ft 10 in | Height | 5 ft 10 in |
70 in | Reach | 72 in |
24-2 | Record | 19-1-1 |
After 19-wins in a row - including five in the UFC - Damir Ismagulov was defeated for the first time since 2015 by the hands of Arman Tsarukyan last December.
Holding a master of sport in hand-to-hand combat, Ismagulov will take on Grant Dawson - a fighter who has yet to be defeated under the UFC banner.
Dawson has won his last two fights via submission following his 2021 majority draw with Ricky Glenn.
In what will be his first fight of the 2023 calendar year, Dawson will enter the octagon boasting a two-inch reach advantage over Ismagulov as well as a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Both men will stand equal in height and are also equals at -110 betting odds.
Max Griffin | TALE OF THE TAPE | Michael Morales |
37 | Age | 24 |
5 ft 11 in | Height | 6 ft |
76 in | Reach | 79 in |
19-9 | Record | 14-0 |
After a stretch in which he went 1-4, first-degree kickboxing black belt Max Griffin has turned things around and now finds himself 4-1 in his last five fights.
Following a split-decision loss to Neil Magny last March, Griffin bounced back with a split-decision win of his own over Tim Means last October. This Saturday will be his first fight of 2023.
His opponent, the undefeated Michael Morales, is already 2-0 since signing with the UFC. He earned a first-round TKO over Trevin Giles in his debut and followed that performance up with a third-round TKO win over Adam Fugitt last July. This will also be the first fight of 2023 for Morales.
Morales will stand taller by one-inch and will enjoy a three-inch reach advantage over Griffin, who is listed as the +210 underdog and 13-years older than his opponent.
Ariane Lipski | TALE OF THE TAPE | Melissa Gatto |
29 | Age | 27 |
5 ft 6 in | Height | 5 ft 5 in |
67 in | Reach | 69 in |
15-8 | Record | 8-1-2 |
Currently unranked in the women’s flyweight division, Ariane Lipski and Melissa Gatto will both be looking for a big win this Saturday.
Lipski is just 2-3 over her last five fights, but is coming off of a unanimous decision win over JJ Aldrich that took place this past March.
Melissa Gatto was still undefeated heading into her last contest, having won her first two UFC bouts. However she dropped a unanimous decision to Tracy Cortez at UFC 274 last May. She has yet to fight this year.
Lipski, the +185 underdog, will stand one-inch taller but it is the -215 favorite Melissa Gatto that will have the two-inch reach advantage.
Ismael Bonfim | TALE OF THE TAPE | Benoit Saint-Denis |
27 | Age | 27 |
5 ft 8 in | Height | 5 ft 11 in |
71 in | Reach | 73 in |
19-3 | Record | 10-1, 1 no-contest |
Riding an 11-fight winning streak into his appearance on the Contender Series, Ismael Bonfim has kept his streak alive - winning via decision on the Series and earning a second-round flying knee knockout over Terrance McKinney in his UFC debut in January.
The Brazilian takes on France’s Benoit Saint-Denis. Holding a black belt in judo as well as a brown belt in BJJ, Saint-Denis lost his UFC debut in 2021 but bounced back with back-to-back victories in 2022 - both wins coming by second-round finish.
Saint-Denis will stand three-inches taller and have a two-inch reach advantage.
But it is Bonfim, with his 13-fight win streak on the line, who will enter the octagon as the -305 favorite (the largest betting favorite on the main card).
Nursulton Ruziboev | TALE OF THE TAPE | Brunno Ferreira |
29 | Age | 30 |
6 ft 4 in | Height | 5 ft 10 in |
N/A | Reach | 72 in |
34-8-2 | Record | 10-0 |
Scheduled on two separate occasions to take on Abdul Razak Alhassan and having both bouts canceled, undefeated Brunno Ferriera will now take on Nursulton Ruziboev in what will be just his second UFC fight.
Ferreira took on Gregory Rodrigues in his UFC debut and won via first-round knockout.
Although Ferreira has little UFC experience, his opponent - Nursulton Ruziboev - has even less, as this Saturday will mark his UFC debut despite fighting professionally since 2014 and having more than 40 fights on his record.
Ruziboev will be riding an eight-fight winning streak outside of the promotion heading into this Saturday’s main card kickoff bout. Despite his height advantage of six-inches, however, he is listed as a +170 underdog.
