World Cup BTTS Predictions 2026 06 23 Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal

Portugal vs. Uzbekistan: BTTS No (-135) at BetMGM

Portugal was not at all impressive in its opening game of the tournament. It went ahead early on against DR Congo as Joao Neves planted a header into the corner of the net. But it failed to press home its advantage, allowing DR Congo to score an equalizer. Portugal had 75 percent possession in the match, yet it was outshot by its opponent. Even more damning is the fact that Roberto Martinez’s men did not produce another attempt on target after Neves’ opener.

A vast improvement is needed, starting with today’s clash with Uzbekistan. Portugal is still the favorite to finish top of Group K, but only just. Colombia, which beat Uzbekistan 3-1 last time out, is hot on his heels. Portugal needs to move the ball quicker in its second game, while the continued presence up top of a 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is surely not sustainable.

Despite those issues, Portugal is well positioned to keep a clean sheet against Uzbekistan. The Central Asians scored against Colombia, but the goal came from a rare attack. In recent months, it has failed to score against Iran, Venezuela and Canada. It is not an offensive powerhouse. Select BTTS no at -135 with BetMGM.

England vs. Ghana: BTTS Yes (+140) at BetMGM

England did not have everything its own way against Croatia on matchday one, but a 4-2 victory represented a solid start to its World Cup campaign. After going in at half-time with the score locked at 2-2, England started the second period at a blistering pace and Croatia had no answer. It was an impressive display of intensity from Thomas Tuchel’s team, and one it will look to replicate for parts of this encounter.

Ghana was also triumphant on matchday one. It left it late, but Caleb Yirinkyi struck in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time to give Ghana all three points against Panama. The Black Stars were flat in the opening 45 minutes, but with the likes of Antoine Semeyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Abdul Fatawu, it has some dangerous attackers in its ranks.

That will be problematic for an England defense which did not look entirely convincing against Croatia, as evidenced by the fact it conceded twice. The Three Lions will back itself to come out on top against an ordinary Ghana side, but a clean sheet will be elusive. Go for BTTS yes at +140 with BetMGM.

Panama vs. Croatia: BTTS No (-135) at BetMGM

Panama was marginally the better side in the first half of its 1-0 defeat by Ghana, but it did not do enough in the second period. Ultimately it was made to pay for its cautiousness, as Ghana took control and then notched a late winner. Panama is now up against it, needing at least one win against Croatia or England to remain in contention for a place in the round of 32.

Croatia held England level for half of its opening game, but in truth it was second best during that encounter in Dallas. Luka Modric was not able to exert his usual level of control, with the 40-year-old taken off early by Zlatko Dalic. Ultimately, Croatia was not able to live with the pace, power and dynamism of England, but that will be less of an issue when it takes on Panama.

Croatia’s defense did not look particularly robust last time out, but it will let much less through against Panama. Josko Gvardiol is a top center-back and the 19-year-old Luka Vuskovic is on his way to being one too, so Panama’s attack will have its work cut out in trying to create clear-cut chances. Pick BTTS no at -135 with BetMGM.

Colombia vs. DR Congo: BTTS Yes (+140) at BetMGM

Colombia came out on top in its first fixture of World Cup 2026, beating Uzbekistan 3-1. It was the superior side for the entirety of the encounter, although it only made sure of the three points when it scored its third goal in the ninth minute of second-half injury time.

Still, there was plenty to like about its performance, especially offensively. James Rodriguez was given a free role, vacating the right flank to pick up pockets of space all across the frontline. Jhon Arias and Luis Diaz were also bright, and while the striker Luis Suarez was relatively quiet, he is averaging just under one goal per game for the national team.

The issue was at the other end of the field. Colombia’s defense can be exploited, as Uzbekistan did in the second half. In four of its last six games, both teams have scored. Colombia manager Nestor Lorenzo seems willing to play to his side’s offensive strengths, which tends to produce open games. DR Congo was efficient up front on matchday one, so it will fancy its chances of scoring here. Select BTTS yes at +140 with BetMGM.
