Eight Sports Betting Operators On Track to Be Licensed in North Carolina by March 1
The North Carolina Lottery Commission announced this week that they have yet to approve any licenses, which may soon change.
NCLC Deputy Executive Sterl Carpenter shared this week that eight of the nine sports betting operators who have applied for licenses are on track to be approved by March 1. That means eight operators should be open and ready when North Carolina’s pre-registration window for online sports betting begins.
There are a total of nine sportsbook operators who have applied for licenses for the state’s March 11 launch. That list includes:
Fanatics
Underdog sports
Catawba Two Kings Casino (no operating printer established)
While Sterling did not specify which operator is not on track to make the March 1 pre-registration date, it is likely the Catawba Two Kings Casino. They are the only applicant that does not have an operating partner, which will be needed before their license can receive final approval.
Sports Betting License Awarded for Tech Companies
While no operator licenses have been approved, the NLCL has approved seven licenses for tech companies. These companies work behind the scenes in the online sports betting industry, making their presence vital before pre-registration begins on March 1.
Here is the complete list of companies that have received licenses in North Carolina:
FEMG CO.
Idology Inc.
International Betting Integrity Association
LexisNexis Risk Solutions FL Inc.
SIS Content Services Inc
SportContentCo LLC
Swish Analytics North Carolina Inc.
