The Overwatch League (OWL) maybe 14 weeks in, but this weekend will be the first time all 20 teams will be actively competing as the esports title returns to business as usual following coronavirus-related shutdowns.

With nearly half of the teams in the league having played less than ten games, some teams not having played for months, this week should deliver on the game’s trademark carnage and high octane action.

Ahead of this weekend’s competitions, hero bans in effect for week 14 include Ashe (Damage), Reaper (Damage), Reinhardt (Tank), and Brigitte (Support).

Shanghai Dragons vs Seoul Dynasty

Shanghai is looking to repeat their easy win over the Dynasty in week 14’s opening match as Seoul struggles with their team synergy.

The Dynasty is desperately trying to fight out of a slump, and a match against one of the best teams in the league won’t bode well for them.

Whatever is wrong with Seoul’s specialists doesn’t look like it’ll be fixed anytime soon, and expecting them to pull it together against one of the league’s best teams is a tall order.

Chengdu Hunters vs London Spitfire

The Hunters are in the midst of a four-game skid but are slight favorites over the Spitfire who have managed to narrowly win their last three games in a row.

Conventional wisdom suggests London has the momentum, yet the unorthodox play from Chengdu might be a puzzle the Spitfire won’t be able to solve.

London last played over two months ago, and that rust might play a factor against a team that is better than their record currently indicates.

Paris Eternal vs Los Angeles Gladiators

The Eternals look to bounce back at the expense of the Los Angeles Gladiators after nearly toppling the once-beaten Philadelphia Fusion.

This week’s hero ban of Reinhardt will hit the Gladiators hard, but this will be a close match that will go the distance.

Los Angeles is the stronger team, and they’ll have to prove it against a team that can hang with the best in the league.
