With just one of our four picks going deep on Monday, we were able to start the week with a small profit. The strategy for Tuesday is to target players who feel due for a home run. These players may not have hit a lot of home runs so far, but they have good value and favorable matchups to go deep on Tuesday.

Chapman’s power appears to be in decline, going from 39 home runs in 2024 to just 23 last season. That trend has continued this season, as he has just one home run thus far. But Chapman also has 12 hits in his last eight games, so he’s moving in the right direction and is bound to tap into his power sooner or later.
Tuesday figures to be the perfect occasion against Cincinnati’s Brady Singer. Chapman is 7 for 10 with three doubles and two home runs in his career against Singer, so he should be excited to step in the batter’s box against him. Singer is also off to a terrible start, giving up two home runs and posting a 7.71 ERA over 11.2 innings, so he looks extra vulnerable against a hitter like Chapman, who’s had his number in the past.

Oneil Cruz has stolen most of the headlines in Pittsburgh this season, but Reynolds is doing his part as well. He went 3 for 4 with a triple in Monday’s blowout win, making him 7 for 17 with two extra-base hits in his last four games. With three home runs this season, hitting for power hasn’t been an issue for Reynolds this season.
On Tuesday, Reynolds will face a pitcher with whom he’s familiar in Miles Mikolas. He has 44 career at-bats against Mikolas, going 14 for 44 (.341) with six extra-base hits, including a home run. Mikolas is also off to a disastrous start this season, allowing five home runs and pitching to a 12.41 ERA over 12.1 innings, putting Reynolds in a favorable spot.

Alonso got off to a sluggish start with his new team this season. However, he’s on a mini-heater, going 4 for 7 with two doubles and a home run, leading a comeback win on Monday night. That means he’s got some confidence and the support of the home fans behind him, so we feel good about trying to strike while the iron is hot with Alonso.
The kicker is that Alonso and the Orioles will face Merrill Kelly, who will come off the IL to make his season debut on Tuesday. Alonso has three career home runs against Kelly in just 19 career at-bats. Kelly also gave up 23 home runs last season, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him give up a home run or two in his 2026 debut.

Marsh isn’t always the obvious member of the Phillies to target, but he offers good value, especially at the hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park. Like most members of the Phillies, Marsh had a big game in Monday’s win, going 3 for 4 with a double. He’s now hitting .304 after back-to-back multi-hit games.
Naturally, he also has a favorable pitching matchup on Tuesday. The Cubs have an opener, but Colin Rea will be charged with pitching a majority of the game. Marsh is 5 for 6 with three doubles in his career against Rea. Even in a small sample size, there are plenty of reasons to believe that Marsh is set up for success on Tuesday and has a chance to go deep.
