Admittedly, Monday’s targets for home run props are a little unusual. We start with Shohei Ohtani, who is an obvious candidate, especially since the Dodgers are playing at Coors Field. Beyond that, we tried to search for players with excellent value despite not being the most obvious candidates to go deep.

Ohtani and the Dodgers wrap up a four-game series at Coors Field on Monday. While he’s yet to hit a home run in the series, Ohtani is 5 for 14 with three doubles. He’s contributed in just about every other way possible except going deep, so one could argue that he’s due to close the series with a home run.
The matchup with Jose Quintana also points to Ohtani hitting a home run. He’s 3 for 7 in his career against Quintana, and all three hits have been home runs. That might be a small sample size, but it’s a remarkable trend, and one that’s worth taking a chance on if Ohtani has odds of +200 or better.

At 35, Altuve can still hit, batting .298 with three home runs during the first few weeks of the season. He’s got six hits in his last four games, including three in Sunday’s game, putting him in a nice groove at the plate. Even though the Astros have lost four in a row, Altuve is hitting, and they’re going to need him on Monday to help snap that losing streak.
Slade Cecconi and the Guardians will oppose Altuve and the Astros on Monday. While he’s had just four career at-bats against Cecconi, Altuve’s only hit against him was a home run. Cecconi has an ERA of 5.03 this season, so he hasn’t been that effective, putting Altuve in a good spot.

Neto got off to a fast start this season, hitting five home runs in his first 14 games. Unfortunately, he’s now gone nine straight games without a home run. But that doesn’t mean that Neto has slowed down. He’s 5 for 17 with two doubles over his last five games, so it’s not hard to imagine Neto getting his power stroke back and going deep.
Facing Dylan Cease on Monday offers Neto a good opportunity to do just that. He has just five career at-bats against Cease, but both hits he has off him have been home runs. To his credit, Cease has been outstanding this season, pitching to a 1.74 ERA. However, he gave up over 20 home runs last season, so he can be hurt by the long ball and has been hurt by Neto in the past.

Harris is not an obvious candidate for a home run prop, but he’s a prime example of trying to strike while the iron is hot. He didn’t start on Saturday, but on both Friday and Sunday, Harris had three hits, including a home run. That gives him six hits, including the two homers, and two walks in his last nine plate appearances.
The kicker is that Harris and the Braves are facing Jake Irvin on Monday. Irvin gave up the most home runs in baseball last season, and he’s allowed three long balls while pitching to a 6.16 ERA this season. Despite not hitting a home run against Irvin previously, Harris is 7 for 18 (.389) with doubles against him, making him a worthwhile target for a home run prop on Monday.
