There are a lot of great bets on the board today, but two stand out above the rest. The first is an NL East matchup between the Washington Nationals and New York Mets. The other comes from a lopsided battle between the NL West-leading Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Below, we will share our favorite bet for each game. The odds we use are taken from FanDuel Sportsbook, which offers new players a welcome bonus of $150 in Bonus Bets when they sign up and make an initial winning wager of $5+.

While the Mets have the highest payroll in baseball, the Nationals have been the better team in 2024. That has been made clear in May, with New York going 9-21 during the month. While Washington isn’t great, they have been able to keep their record around .500 all season and will add another win tonight.
The Mets will have David Peterson (0-0, 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP) making his second start of the season tonight. His first start was against the Dodgers, where he allowed three runs (two earned) across five innings, but he also allowed seven hits and a walk. The 28-year-old was terrible last season, which included one start against the Nationals, where he allowed six earned runs on nine hits over five innings. We expect to see an outing more similar to that tonight.
Washington will have veteran Trevor Williams (5-0, 2.22 ERA) on the mound against New York. The former Met has been one of the best pitchers in baseball as he continues the best campaign of his long career. Williams was especially great in May, posting a 1.80 ERA over six starts. Considering that the Mets’ offense ranks in the league's bottom half in terms of runs scored and batting average, we love Williams’s chances to add another strong start tonight.

While this matchup features one of the Pirates' most promising prospects on the mound, we see a route coming in Pittsburgh tonight.
Pittsburgh will be starting 22-year-old Jared Jones (3-5, 3.55 ERA, 1.01 WHIP) against the Dodgers tonight. The rookie is the team’s second-ranked pitching prospect and has been great in his rookie season. However, he has run into some bumps in May. Jones posted a 3.99 ERA across five starts last month and is coming off his worst outing of the season. On Wednesday, the Tigers drilled the righty, allowing seven runs (five earned) across 4.1 innings.
Jones will be facing his toughest test tonight. The Dodgers are fourth in the league in batting average (.256), fifth in runs scored (297), and third in home runs (77). LA’s top three hitters have won a combined four MVPs since 2018, and we think they will hammer the rookie hard this evening.
The Dodgers will have one of their top arms on the mound in Tyler Glasnow (6-3, 3.04 ERA, 0.91 WHIP). The former Rays star has been fantastic for LA, and he will be facing a Pirates team that hasn’t really seen him before. Considering that the Buccos rank twenty-fifth in batting average (.229), we don’t like their chances to figure out Glasnow the first time seeing him tonight.
