Opening our MLB best bets for Tuesday night is the NL East matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins. Philadelphia won the series opener between these teams on Monday night, overcoming a 2-0 first inning deficit to win by a score of 4-2. Here, expect the Phillies to continue their winning ways in a game that could help decide the Wild Card hierarchy in the National League.
Ranger Suarez will get the start for the Phillies in this game, and he is opposed by Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins. While Alcantara has a superior reputation, which is well deserved given Alcantara’s Cy Young past, the numbers of Suarez have been just as good as those of Alcantara this season. As a result, the Phillies are underpriced in the market for a game like this one.
While the Phillies are just as good as the Marlins on the mound to start this game, the Phillies are the better offensive team. Philadelphia is better in the power department, which can help them to create some separation in this game.

The Tampa Bay Rays are in the race to win the AL East this season, while the New York Yankees are looking to climb out of last place in that division. On Tuesday night, the Rays and Yankees will face off again, as the Rays look to win a second straight game in the current series between these teams. They should be able to do just that, as the Rays have a decided pitching advantage over New York here.
Zach Eflin gets the start for the Rays in this game, as he will enter with a record of 11-6 and an ERA of 3.64. He will be opposed by Carlos Rodon, who has only made a handful of starts for the Yankees since returning from injury. Rodon is 1-3 since his return, and has posted a less than stellar 5.75 ERA, for a Yankees team that has needed more from Rodon than Rodon has been able to provide.
So far this season, Tampa Bay holds a 5-3 season series lead against the Yankees, a lead they will look to increase after this game is in the books. A big reason for that is the superior offense of the Rays, who rank fourth in runs scored this season. Meanwhile, the Yankees rank 22nd in the league in runs scored, as they have simply not been good enough to put runs on the board consistently this year.

Our final MLB best bet for Tuesday is a banger of a game in the NL West between the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants. These teams are both within four games of first place in the NL West standings behind the first place LA Dodgers. With so much on the line in every game for both of these teams moving forward, the battle of aces we are getting tonight will be of massive significance.
The Diamondbacks are sending Zac Gallen to the mound for this game, who enters with a record of 11-5 and a 3.36 ERA. But it is worth noting that nine of Gallen’s 11 wins this season have come at home, while he is just 2-4 on the road this season. That discrepancy between home and road performance will be a huge factor here, as the Diamondbacks are on the road for this game.
Meanwhile, Alex Cobb gets the start for the Giants, who is just 6-3 but has a 2.97 ERA on the year. While he is not one of the favorites to win the Cy Young award in the National League, he has been in the conversation for much of the year. Look for Cobb to outperform a pitcher in Gallen who has been mortal on the road, en route to a win for the Giants.
