This is one of the best prop bets of the weekend. Benintendi is the Sox leadoff man who has scored a run in nine of his thirteen games this season. That includes a run he picked up last night against the Orioles. Benintendi will also have the advantage of having Eloy Jimenez back in the lineup. Jimenez is a dangerous hitter who has been a solid run producer when healthy. He’ll join Luis Roberts Jr and Andrew Vaughn in the heart of the lineup.

Benintendi and the White Sox will face Kyle Gibson on the mound. He has been outstanding over his last two starts, but his career numbers suggest it won’t last. Gibson was with the Phillies the previous two seasons and put up an ERA over 5.00 in both. If the Sox can’t get to him the first time through the lineup, they will the second time.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs St. Louis Cardinals

My Pick: Paul Goldschmidt to Hit a Home Run (+420)

I absolutely love the odds on this prop bet, as all signs point to a home run from Goldschmidt. The slugger has been hitting well this season but has managed just one home run. Goldschmidt has hit 30 or more home runs in the last five seasons when he has been healthy, which means a correction is coming. Now he’ll be in the friendly confines of Busch Stadium and facing a Pirates pitcher coming off a brutal showing against the Astros.

Roany Contreras will get the start for the Pirates on Saturday. The young pitcher was solid against Boston to open the season but was shelled by the Astros last week. Contreras gave up seven runs and four walks over 3 ⅓ innings.

Goldschmidt had a .415 batting average with four home runs against the Pirates last season. Look for him to build on that tonight.

Minnesota Twins vs New York Yankees

My Pick: Byron Buxton to Hit a Home Run (+400)

I love this bet because of Byron Buxton's numbers against the Yankees last season. In 12 at-bats, Buxton posted a .417 batting average and hit three home runs. The outfielder has always been a talented hitter, but his inability to stay healthy has cost him. The Twins are confident he can put together an entire season in 2023, and some have talked about him as a dark horse MVP candidate. I don't know if that is realistic, but I love him to go deep against New York today.

Domingo German will get the start for the Yankees this afternoon. The veteran has been bad to begin the season, giving up six runs and two home runs over 5 ⅔ innings. German was decent last season but was limited to just 14 starts. Every other season has been a struggle, indicating that his current issues will likely be here to stay.

Minnesota Twins vs New York Yankees

My Pick: Carlos Correa Over 1.5 Total Bases (+139)

This Saturday prop bet offers the best value of the weekend. Correa’s numbers aren’t where they should be, but signs are he is starting to turn things around. He is 5-11 with a double and three home runs over his last three games. It broke a 1-12 slump and showed his bat is starting to wake up. He will have an excellent opportunity to do just that against Domingo German this afternoon.

I spoke above about German’s poor numbers, but another factor must be considered. The Yankees have had issues with their bullpen of late. They have given up six runs over the series' first two games, and New York will need to be conservative as they don’t have time off this week. That means either they’ll let German struggle or turn to the pen early. Either way, Correra should continue to stay hot.

Tampa Bay Rays vs Toronto Blue Jays

My Pick: Yusei Kikuchi Over 5.5 Hits (+102)

🔥 Claimed by 165 people this week!

Kikuchi isn’t a household name, as he has had a mediocre career as a reliever and spot starter. With a career ERA of 5.05, he has never developed into the player the Mariners thought he would be in 2019. Now with the Blue Jays, Kikuchi has a second chance to be a full-time starter. He didn’t help his case in his last start as he gave up nine hits in 4 ⅓ innings of the Halos.

Kikuchi will face a Rays team fourth in the MLB in hits (124) and first in batting average (.287). No offense has played better to begin the season, and they won’t miss a beat today against the shaky Blue Jays starter. Expect their offense to capitalize and surpass five hits within the first three innings.
