Our first MLB prop bet of the day is for the Jon Gray of the Texas Rangers to pick up the win when he pitches against the Houston Astros on Friday night. In this battle between the top-two teams in the AL West, Gray gives the Rangers an advantage on the mound early against the Astros. If he can seize that advantage, the Rangers could extend their lead over Houston to six games heading into the weekend.
Gray has been electric so far this season, going 6-3 with an ERA of just 2.89 heading into this start. He has a significant edge on the mound over Astros starter Ronel Blanco, who has an ERA of 4.63 despite him winning his lone decision of the season. That should help Gray to pick up the win in this matchup and to get Gray back into the win column after he has gone three straight starts without a victory.
Also working in Gray’s favor is the fact that he is the pitcher more likely to get the run support he needs in this game. Despite the reputation of the Astros as a team with the best offense in baseball, it is actually the Rangers that lead the league in runs scored for the season. Look for that trend to continue and for the Rangers to pick up a win behind Gray to further their lead in this division. If you want to place a bet, check out MLB betting sites!

Next up, we take a shot at a home run prop on Friday night, as Freddie Freeman is a great candidate to go deep against the Kansas City Royals. The Dodgers are heavy favorites going into this game against one of the worst teams in baseball. Along the way, we should see Freeman go deep against the suspect pitching staff of the Royals, to help the Dodgers get a much-needed win on the road.
Freeman is someone who always has a chance to go yard in a game, thanks in large part to his ability to rack up hits on a regular basis. He is in the top-four in the list of favorites to be the MLB hit king for 2023, and his .321 batting average means plenty of contact. He has a tendency to turn some of that contact into power, as Freeman already has 14 home runs this season and could add to that total on Friday night.
Along with Freeman’s individual talent, this is also a bet worth making thanks to the fact that the Dodgers really need to win games just like this one. Los Angeles enters this series two games back of the surprising Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL West standings. With Merrill Kelly now on the IL for the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers need to use their power to win contests like this against the Royals, and keep the pressure on Arizona.

Our final MLB prop bet for Friday is for Justin Steele to go under his total of 4.5 strikeouts when the Chicago Cubs host the Cleveland Guardians on Friday afternoon. While Steele is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball right now, going contrarian by taking his strikeout under is the way to go. This is especially true against a Guardians team that has been excellent at avoiding strikeouts for much of this season.
So far this year, only one team in Major League Baseball has struck out fewer times than the Cleveland Guardians. That team is the Washington Nationals, who have struggled to win games despite avoiding strikeouts this season. Look for the Guardians to continue to make contact, even when they fail to reach base, to help this strikeout over/under stay on the underside for the duration of Steele’s time on the field.
Steele is also just not a strikeout pitcher in the same way that a lot of ace pitchers in baseball are. He averages under a strikeout per inning, which works in the favor of the under going into this contest as well.
