Adolis Garcia is a huge reason why the Rangers were able to close out the Astros on the road. He has been on fire during the postseason, with a .327 batting average, seven home runs, and 20 RBIs in 52 at-bats. He finished the ALCS in style by hitting five home runs over their final four games. That included Game 7 when Garcia went 4 for 5 with two home runs and five RBIs. While he has been sitting at home over the last few days, he should be dialed in at home tonight, especially with a struggling D-Backs pitcher on the mound.
Arizona will have their ace on the mound tonight, Zac Gallen. The righty was good in 2023 but regressed slightly from an impressive 2022 campaign. He started the postseason strong, but the Phillies shelled him in the NLCS. He made two starts, allowing nine runs and 14 hits across 11 innings. He seemed to shrink under the bright lights, which will shine even brighter tonight.

Zac Gallen did not have a good ALCS, but he did go deep into games. The Diamondbacks ace has gone for over 15 innings in three of his four postseason starts. That includes his previous start, where he was walloped by the Phillies but still lasted a full six innings. Arizona won’t want to burn through their bullpen in game one on the road, and we think they will allow Gallen to go deep even if he surrendered 4-5 runs. The 28-year-old did face the Rangers in August, allowing seven hits but just one run over six innings.
While Adolis Garcia and Corey Seager have been hot for the Rangers, the rest of the lineup has dipped. Chief among them is Marcus Semien, who is batting .192 in the postseason. The second baseman was a crucial part of this impressive offense during the regular season. They have overcome his slump so far, but it’s still a big bat for this offense to be missing, and it should provide Gallen with a couple of easy outs.

Eovaldi has played a vital role for this team, serving as the Rangers’ ace after Jacob deGrom was lost for the season. He was stellar but dealt with injuries that held him out at the end of the regular season. He returned before the season ended but was hit hard. That has changed in the postseason, as Eovaldi has regained his form from earlier in the season. The righty has a 2.42 ERA across four starts, all of which qualified as quality starts.
We like Eovaldi to keep rolling against the Diamondbacks at home tonight, especially considering the offense that will be supporting him. The Rangers’ lineup will be facing a struggling Zac Gallen, and that should give Eovaldi a cushion to work with. While the back of the Texas bullpen can be scary, we think the veteran makes their job easy with a great start tonight.
