Guardians vs. Rays – Joey Cantillo vs. Shane McClanahan (7:10 PM EST)

The Cleveland Guardians are fighting to stay in the playoff picture, while the Rays are trying to win the American League East.

Pick: Under 0.5 First Inning Runs (-140) at DraftKings

Joey Cantillo has quietly put together a solid season, posting an 8-5 record with a 3.74 ERA while striking out 112 hitters across 106 innings. His 1.42 WHIP isn't ideal, but his swing and miss ability gives him a chance to escape early traffic.

The Guardians have benefitted a lot from this is 2026. 

Shane McClanahan has looked like himself since returning, carrying a 3.16 ERA with a strong 1.15 WHIP through 91 innings. 

He has allowed only seven home runs all season, making him a difficult pitcher to square up the first time through the lineup. With both starters capable of missing bats, this is one of the stronger NRFI spots on the board.

Mariners vs. Rangers – Bryce Miller vs. MacKenzie Gore (8:05 PM EST)

The Mariners and Rangers are in a battle for the American League West championship. 

Pick: Under 0.5 First Inning Runs (-140) at DraftKings

Bryce Miller has been outstanding this season and owns some of the best underlying numbers of any pitcher taking the mound Friday. 

He enters with a 2.27 ERA, an elite 0.88 WHIP, and just 46 hits allowed over 63.1 innings. Limiting baserunners has been the key to his success, making him a reliable NRFI arm.

MacKenzie Gore has been more inconsistent, but his strikeout stuff still plays well in the opening inning. He has punched out 122 hitters in 110.2 innings and has the ability to overpower hitters when his fastball is working. 

Miller gives this wager a very high floor, and if Gore can navigate the top of Seattle's lineup once, I’ll take the NRFI.

Angels vs. Giants – Grayson Rodriguez vs. Logan Webb (10:15 PM EST)

Logan Webb at home is always a player I like to bet on for NRFI wagers. 

Pick: Under 0.5 First Inning Runs (-130) at DraftKings

Webb has a 3.87 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP across 107 innings while consistently keeping opponents off the scoreboard early in games. His ability to generate weak contact makes him one of the safest first inning pitchers in baseball.

Grayson Rodriguez has struggled to an 8.23 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in limited action, which adds some risk. 

However, San Francisco's offense has been inconsistent enough that Rodriguez has a chance to survive the opening frame. With Webb expected to shut down the Angels, the value is still on the NRFI at this number.

Best YRFI Bet

• Dodgers vs. Mets – Roki Sasaki vs. Sean Manaea: Both starters have been vulnerable this season, as Sasaki owns a 4.98 ERA while Manaea sits at 4.74. Each pitcher has allowed plenty of traffic on the bases and has struggled to consistently work clean innings. With two talented lineups capable of producing instant offense, this is my favorite YRFI play on Friday's card.
