Best NRFI Bets Today October 11

Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins - Jose Urquidy (RHP) vs. Joe Ryan (RHP)

Under 0.5 Runs (-120 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The Twins season is on the line on Wednesday. Joe Ryan will look to pitch Minnesota to a game five back in Houston. We expect the Astros to advance to the ALCS, but we also like this game to be a low-scoring defensive battle.

The defense will start in the first inning with Jose Urquidy and Joe Ryan on the mound. Urquidy and Ryan have been solid this season, and they’re the reason the total is set at eight runs in this game.

This is a low number, considering how good these two offenses have been in 2023. Urquidy shoved the Twins in one start against them this season. He went 5.1 innings and recorded a 1.69 ERA with a 1.5 WHIP.

The WHIP was high, but he got out of jams with elite swing-and-miss ability. The pitcher recorded six strikeouts to just one walk in the game. He also didn’t allow a homer to one of the most potent offenses in the game.

Ryan will take the mound for Minnesota, and he has been solid this season. He is 11-10 with a 4.51 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. He is also 18th in strikeouts with 197. The pitcher is exactly who Minnesota wants on the mound facing elimination.

The one way this NRFI doesn’t hit is due to home runs. The Astros hit four homers on Tuesday, which led to a 9-1 victory. If Minnesota throws batting practice again, Houston will win this game, and they will start right away.

The best way to limit runs between these two teams is by not allowing the long ball. They’re not great at manufacturing runs, especially early in the game.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Arizona Diamondbacks - Lance Lynn (RHP) vs. Brandon Pfaddt (RHP)

Over 0.5 Runs (-146 on FanDuel Sportsbook)

The NRFI in Game 3 of the Dodgers vs Diamondbacks game is plus money, but don’t fall for the trap. These teams can hit and have shown the ability to do this in the first inning all year.

The Dodgers have one of the most potent offenses in the game, even though they haven’t shown it in the playoffs. They have been neutralized offensively in every aspect of the game.

However, Los Angeles has faced elimination, which is not a new feeling. They know how to perform with their back against the wall, and this is something we’ll likely see in this contest.

The Dodgers will face Brandon Pfaadt, who is 3-9 with a 5.72 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. He has struggled on the mound, and we believe he will once again versus the Dodgers. If Arizona wasn’t up 2-0, we don’t think the pitcher would be starting in this game.

Los Angeles will throw Lance Lynn, who also has struggled. He has a 5.73 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. Neither pitcher is one that we want to trust in this contest. Take the offenses to deliver in the first inning.

The Dodgers have been one of the best offensive teams in the game this year, while the Diamondbacks have put on a show in this round of the playoffs. Thanks to their offense, they also swept the Brewers in the first round of the playoffs.
