Admittedly, Tuesday is a mixed bag when it comes to our home run props. We’ve picked some hitters who have been in a slump lately but have unquestioned power, so they could break out at any time. To balance that out, we also chose to target one of MLB’s hottest hitters to go deep on Tuesday.

Home Run Picks for Tuesday, August 11

There are some fantastic home run props out there today, but some stand above the rest. Below are the players we’re locked in on. 

Ben Rice Anytime Home Run (+285) at FanDuel Sportsbook

For a player with 32 home runs on the season, Rice has lacked power lately. While he hit one on Saturday, that was just his third home run since July 10. But he does have two hits in his last three games, including that home run, so he’s showing signs of coming out of his slump. Plus, anytime he’s at home, the right-field porch at Yankee Stadium gives Rice a chance to go deep.

On Tuesday, Rice and the Yankees will face Bryan Woo. While Woo is fresh off seven scoreless innings against the Tigers, he’s been somewhat inconsistent and started to have trouble with home runs in July. When Woo has given up home runs, left-handed hitters have typically done the damage, putting Rice in a good spot despite his recent power outage.

Tyler Soderstrom Anytime Home Run (+350) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Soderstrom is another left-handed hitter with a favorable matchup on Monday. The A’s are facing Freddy Peralta, who is not the Peralta of old. His first start with the Rays was arguably his worst of the season. Peralta has given up at least one home run in five of his last six starts, totaling 19 on the season, with left-handed hitters responsible for 15 of them.

In his career, Soderstrom is a modest 2 for 6 against Peralta. But he also enters Monday’s game on an eight-game hitting streak. During that stretch, Soderstrom has six extra-base hits, including two home runs. His power is coming alive, and facing Peralta plays into that.

Jackson Chourio Anytime Home Run (+450) at FanDuel Sportsbook

It’d be tough to find a hotter hitter in baseball right now than Chourio. He’s batting .343 with four home runs in August, with three of those home runs coming in his last five games. Even with the rest of the Milwaukee lineup struggling to produce on Monday, Chourio had three hits, so now is a good time to strike while the iron is hot with him.

Chourio and the Brewers will face Walker Buehler on Tuesday. For what it’s worth, Chourio has a hit in his only career at-bat against Buehler. More importantly, Buehler has a 5.07 ERA on the season and has allowed eight home runs in 30.1 innings since the start of July. Right-handed hitters have actually hit a majority of the home runs he’s given up this year, making the red-hot a tough matchup for him.

Ketel Marte Anytime Home Run (+360) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Tomoyuki Sugano is starting for the Rockies on Tuesday, so we almost have to target someone on the opposing team. Dating back to early June, Sugano has given up at least one home run in eight consecutive starts. He’s pitched well otherwise, but his problems giving up the long ball can’t be ignored.

It’s been mostly left-handed hitters who have given Sugano fits this year. They are slugging .573 against him, hitting 15 of the 22 home runs he’s allowed. That points us to the switch-hitting Marte, who is 3 for 6 with two doubles in his career against Sugano. Marte is also starting to heat up, going 3 for 8 with a double and a home run over his last two games, so now is a good time for him to face Sugano.
