Yankees vs Angels Prediction

Yankees vs Angels Predictions

On Monday night, the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels played a thriller, with the Angels winning in 10 innings. On Tuesday, the Yankees and Angels will do battle again in Anaheim, as both teams look for a much-needed win to help their postseason hopes. But with both teams sending out starters that have been inconsistent this season, anything can happen in this huge Tuesday night matchup.

New York Yankees Predictions

The New York Yankees have lost two straight games in extra innings, dropping an 11-inning game to the Rockies on Sunday before losing in 10 innings to the Angels on Monday. As a result, the Yankees are just five games above .500, which is good for last place in the gauntlet that is the AL East. On Tuesday, the Yankees will hope that starting pitcher Domingo German can conjure up some more magic on the West Coast for them.

So far this season, German is just 5-5 with a 4.32 ERA, as he has had his ups and downs all season long. But German has thrown a perfect game on the West Coast already this year, as he mowed down 27 straight Oakland Athletics on the road prior to the All-Star break. The Yankees will not need perfection from German in this game, but they will need a quality start out of him to win this game.

The Yankees will also need more out of their offense if they are going to win this contest against the Angels. New York was held to just three runs in 10 innings on Monday, and the absence of Aaron Judge in their lineup has been significant, to say the least. Against a pitcher that can be beaten in Patrick Sandoval, the Yankees lineup needs to wake up before their playoff hopes disappear completely.

Los Angeles Angels Predictions

The Los Angeles Angels have won two of their last three games, and it could be argued that they should have a three-game winning streak going into this contest with the Yankees. The Angels blew a two-run ninth-inning lead against the Houston Astros on Sunday night but rebounded nicely at home with their 4-3 extra-inning win against the Yankees. Now, the Angels will look for another win to help get them back to the .500 mark on the season.

Even without Mike Trout in the lineup lately, the Angels have been firing on all cylinders offensively. Prior to last night’s 4-3 win, the Angels had scored 20 runs over the previous two games over the Astros. If they can get to German early in this game, the Angels could get right back on track offensively and use their hitting to score a second straight victory over the Yankees at home.

Of course, the offense of the Angels tends to go as Shohei Ohtani goes. The Angels All-Star had three hits against the Yankees on Monday night, and he has hit safely in four straight games for Los Angeles. Ohtani has two home runs against the Yankees already this season, and could very well add to that total in this matchup.
