The NBA's Tuesday night schedule features some exciting matchups between many of the top teams across the NBA.
In an inter-conference matchup, the Sacramento Kings look to steal victory from the Philadelphia 76ers. The New Orleans Pelicans look to reaffirm their place at the top of the Western Conference when they face the Utah Jazz. And in the league's most historic rivalry, the Los Angeles Lakers host the Boston Celtics.

After a terrible start to the season, the Sacramento Kings have rebounded and now sit fifth in the Western Conference with a 14-11 record and a 6-7 record on the road. The Philadelphia 76ers have struggled with injuries, but are still fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 14-12 record and a 9-5 record at home.
The Sacramento Kings challenge teams with a brilliant offence that scores 118.0 points per game (2nd in the NBA) on 49.0% shooting from the field (4th in the NBA) and 58.9% on their two-point field goal attempts (1st in the NBA). The Sixers on the other hand will pit their scoring defence against the Kings, as they hold their opponents to just 108.4 points per game (3rd in the NBA) and 33.1% shooting from three (1st in the NBA).
The Sixers' impressive defence should give them a slight edge over the Kings, especially considering their recent offensive form. Sacramento is sure to put up a fight, but Philly's ability to control the game should be difficult for them to overcome.

The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to reaffirm their position at the top of the Western Conference, where they own an 18-8 overall record off the back of winning six of 11 games on the road. The Utah Jazz have fallen off since their strong start, now 10th in the Western Conference with a 15-14 record but a solid 9-5 home record.
The depth of the New Orleans Pelicans' scoring options has given the league trouble. They're averaging 117.6 points per game (3rd in the NBA), allowing just 110.6 points per game (8th in the West), all while shooting 48.8% from the field (5th in the NBA). With six key injuries, the Utah Jazz hope they can maintain their 117.3 points per game average (5th in the NBA) and their three-point defense that limits teams to just 34.0% (6th in the NBA).
The Utah Jazz are probably a stronger team than their record suggests, but injuries will hurt them in this matchup. The Pelicans are on a roll and they look to dominate the Jazz in the paint and on the perimeter.

The Boston Celtics are sitting comfortably at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 21-7 record, while having won 10 of 15 on the road. The Los Angeles Lakers have recovered from a dismal start, but still sit 12th in the Western Conference with an 11-15 record overall and a 6-6 record on their home court.
Looking to hit the Lakers where they struggle most, the Boston Celtics enter this game averaging 120.3 points per game (1st in the NBA) on 49.1% shooting efficiency (3rd in the NBA). The Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of holes to fill in their game plan, but they do average 20.8 free throws made (1st in the NBA) to 25.9 attempted (1st in the NBA) while also collecting 45.3 rebounds per game (5th in the NBA.)
At this point in the season, there's little reason to expect the Lakers have a great chance in this matchup. They could have a dominant night in the paint through Anthony Davis, but they are lacking defensively against the league's best-scoring offense.
