Texas beat Colorado State 52-0 in Week 1.
The Ole Miss Rebels put up 76 points in Week 1.
Penn State’s offense looks renewed under offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, scoring 34 points in Week 1.
Week 1 of the college football season is over, and we saw some massive wins, including Ole Miss dropping 76 points and several other big-time programs scoring 60 or more. Meanwhile, Oregon Ducks escaped Idaho with a 24-14 win despite being near 50-point favorites.
In Week 1, I hit two of the three legs with UCF -40.5, taking the under in Clemson and Georgia. Where I fell short was West Virginia and Penn State. I thought Penn State would win, but I thought West Virginia would play much better. However, they scored 12 points and couldn’t stop Penn State.
Below is a three-leg parlay with odds of +599, featuring Ole Miss, Penn State, and Texas.

The Longhorns head into The Big House this weekend as the Wolverines host them. In Week 1, Texas beat up on Colorado State 52-0. While you may dismiss that win as, yes, Texas should’ve won, remember that the Rams passing offense tanked 17th in the country last season in passing yards per game at more than 291 under quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicholosi.
The Longhorns held them to 192 yards of offense, and they averaged just 3.4 yards per play.
As for Texas, quarterback Quinn Ewers looks sensational. He was in full command of the offense, completing 20 of 27 passes for 260 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Arch Manning even got in on the action with five completions on six attempts for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Turning things over to Michigan, they beat Fresno State 30-10 and didn’t cover the spread. Admittedly, they were close to covering it as it was 21 points, but this Michigan offense looked rough. The starting quarterback was Davis Warren, who completed 15 of 25 passes for 118 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Alex Orji saw some time, completing a pass for a touchdown and running five times for 32 yards.
Another intriguing Michigan storyline is the running back room. Kalel Mullings had 15 carries for 92 yards, while Donovan Edwards managed just 27 yards on 11 carries.
This Texas offense is rolling. I know they’re on the road, but this team lost 18 defensive starters. Michigan does have two potential top-10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham, but I think Texas wins pretty comfortably here.

Ole Miss took on an FCS school in Furman in Week 1 and simply obliterated them 76-0. This week, they’ll match up with Middle Tennessee State. In Week 1, MTSU allowed 341 yards of offense, including 274 passing yards, to another FCS program, Tennessee Tech.
Middle Tennessee managed to win 32-25, but with their defense allowing those kinds of numbers, including 5.2 yards per play, I can only imagine what Ole Miss and quarterback Jaxson Dart will do.
Dart completed 22 of 27 passes for 418 yards, five touchdowns, and rushed six times for 27 yards and another score. Backup quarterback Austin Simmons also threw a touchdown.
I’ll take the over here as there’s a chance Ole Miss could cover this by themselves. If not, I think Middle Tennessee State could manage to put together a couple of scoring drives, especially later in the game with Ole Miss backups. Their running game accounted for three scores in Week 1, so maybe they can get something done with that.

Penn State beat West Virginia 34-12 in Week 1, and now they’re back home at Beaver Stadium hosting the Bowling Green Falcons. Nittany Lions quarterback Drew Alalr looked phenomenal, completing 11 of 17 passes or 216 yards and three touchdowns. One of them included a deep pass to Harrison Wallace III. Allar completed both of his passes 20+ yards downfield for more than 70 yards and that touchdown to Wallace III. Meanwhile, Nicholas Singleton looked great, rushing for well over 100 yards and a score.
The Falcons also won in Week 1, beating up on Fordham, scoring 41 points. Running back Terion Stewart had over 160 yards on the ground and scored three times.
Quarterback Connor Bazelak managed to complete 15 of 22 passes for 168 yards.
The problem for the Falcons here and covering the spread is that the Nittany Lions had the nation’s best rush defense last year, allowing just 75 per game. In Week 1 against the Mountaineers, they allowed just 85 total to six players. The leading rusher had just 42 yards and 12 carries.
I think Penn State blows by this team and easily covers the spread.
