On Monday night, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will face their in-state rival, Duke. The Demon Deacons are 16-7 and will have a massive challenge at Cameron Indoor.

The Blue Devils are positioned to be one of the final teams standing at the end of the season. Duke is the ninth-ranked team in America, with an 18-5 record. They have playmakers all over the floor, and the team has consistently gelled.

Both teams have momentum coming into the matchup. Wake Forest beat NC State on Saturday, while Duke took down Boston College. This contest has a lot of betting value, and we’re here to break it all down at WSN. Let’s get into our best bets for the action and preview this primetime ACC contest.

Wake Forest vs Duke Prediction

Wake Forest vs. Duke Betting Odds for Monday, Feb. 11

Wake Forest must climb a massive hill to upset Duke at home. The Demon Deacons have won three straight games, but this hasn’t helped their price in bookmakers' minds.

FanDuel Sportsbook has Duke as a 6.5-point home favorite. They’re -285 on the moneyline, compared to Wake Forest at +230. The total is listed at 151.5, and all these numbers seem like fair assessments based on the stats.

Teams Spread Moneyline Total
Wake Forest +6.5 (-110) +230 Over 151.5 (-110)
Duke -6.5 (-120) -285 Under 151.5 (-110)

Wake Forest is playing well at the right time. The best teams get hot at the end of the year, and the Demon Deacons are positioned to win their fourth straight game.

They blew out Georgia Tech on Tuesday by an 80-51 margin and then took down NC State 83-79 on Saturday, which made them 8-4 in the ACC. Wake Forest is a quality team, but to take the next step, they have to beat championship-caliber teams on the road.

Duke will be a massive challenge as they’re a more talented team and also playing their best basketball of the season. They have won eight of their past ten games and are coming off a dominant win over Boston College.

The Blue Devils were a double-digit favorite in this contest and covered with a 15-point victory. Kyle Filipowski is the player to watch for Duke, and Wake Forest will have trouble stopping him throughout the game.

Filipowski scored 16 points in the blowout win against Boston College. Consistency has fluctuated for the sophomore, but he is the player who gets the ball in the big spots. Jeremy Roach has been his wingman this season, making shots from mid-range and the perimeter.

Roach has been very efficient from the field in his past few games and should play a significant role on Monday. One of the players who will be tasked with slowing down Roach and the wings for Duke is Hunter Sallis.

Sallis is one of the best guards in the ACC and has averaged 18 points per game in 2023-24. He must have a vast game and score frequently to give his team a chance.

He is supported by fellow guard Cameron Hildreth. Hildreth has recorded 10+ points in four of his last five games. He has averaged 14.5 points per game this season, so he is an excellent addition to Roach.

Wake Forest is 28th in the KenPom ratings, which is respectable. It will take an outstanding performance to beat Duke, but based on the adjusted offensive and defensive ratings, the talent is there.

Duke is 13th, according to KenPom. They’re a balanced team with a stout offense that hasn’t been tamed in the past few games. The two areas where Duke can win are their passing and rebounding.

The Blue Devils are slightly better than Wake Forest, and the home crowd should help them get over the hump and pull off another close ACC win. The big question is, who will cover the spread?

Wake Forest vs. Duke Prediction and Betting Pick

The best teams can win on the road in the major college basketball conferences. Wake Forest is a good team, but we can’t say they’re great. The team has developed a strong run, but their road performances have been shaky.

The team was blown out by UNC on the road and followed this game up with a five-point loss to Pittsburgh as visitors. Duke is 12-2 at home, and we expect them to win.

We also believe they will cover. Cameron Indoor will cause a Pittsburgh team that relies on rough shots to force their looks from the field.

If the Blue Devils show up, they will finish off the Deamon Deacons in the second half.
