The NFL’s Week 17 begins with a Thursday Night Football interconference matchup between the NFC East’s 11-4 Dallas Cowboys and the AFC South’s 7-8 Tennessee Titans, this Cowboys team already on its way to the playoffs as a wildcard seed if they can’t take over that division, and this Titans team that has been riddled with injuries now still on the distant bubble of an AFC postseason slot.
The Titans are on a five-game losing streak and right now they have rookie QB Malik Willis under center since starter Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is listed as out, all part of the injury bug theme that Tennessee seems to be rolling with this year, now with twenty players out or on IR and seven listed as questionable to play in Week 17, all tricky coach’s game time decisions.
That makes it tough to have faith in the Titans to cover even with as many points as WynnBET is dishing out (+9.5, -110), so we like the Cowboys to cover here, especially given that they are ranked far better than Tennessee on both sides of the ball in terms of production, a difference that will emerge in this second to last game of the season when the football stakes are highest.

When it comes to scoring, the Dallas Cowboys are third best in the league averaging 28.9 points per game thanks to a solid passing attack led by QB Dak Prescott and a two-headed run game starring Zeke Elliott and Tony Pollard, and thanks to that, according to the sportsbooks, seven of the Cowboys' last eight games have gone over the total points line, which is what we like here.
The Titans are the 27th best scorers in the league averaging 17.9 points per game this season, so that combined total between both teams – 46.8 points – is well above what the oddsmakers are predicting, though both defenses allow a combined 41 points per game, so consider the under if you think those squads will dominate this late season matchup in Nashville.
At this late point in the year, it becomes a matter of summoning whatever football strength these pro athletes have remaining, but every one of them is no doubt dinged up somehow, including two key Dallas defensemen who are listed as questionable to play – LB Leighton Vander Esch (neck) and DE Sam Williams (neck) – so check back before you wager to see who is suiting up.

This Week 17 Money Line bet from DraftKings gives bettors the chance to put money on their favorite team to win outright, with a $100 bet on the underdog Tennessee Titans to win the game paying winners $340 plus their original investment, while a $425 Money Line bet on the highly favored Dallas Cowboys will only win back $100 plus the bet if they are victorious on TNF.
Some matchups to watch for – the Titans have some playmakers still healthy enough to take the field, with RB Derrick Henry, WR Robert Woods, and rookie WR Treylon Burks all key parts to OC Todd Downing’s weekly game plan, this time facing Dallas Cowboys DC Dan Quinn’s group of stars including LB Micah Parsons, DE Demarcus Lawrence, and CB Trevon Diggs among others.
The key to a Titans victory will be to figure out how to put pressure on QB Dak Prescott to rush his throws and to keep the Cowboys under 100 total rushing yards, while for Dallas to win, it becomes necessary to stop RB Derrick Henry who is so tough to tackle that it takes at least two players to get the job done, a fun start to Week 17 that should spark lots of exciting betting action.
