The second NFL Playoff Divisional Round matchup is an NFC East showdown between the 6th seeded New York Giants and the number one NFC seed, the Philadelphia Eagles, an interdivisional battle that features the 9-win Giants riding high behind the stellar play of QB Daniel “Dimes” Jones against a rested Eagles team that won 14 games during the season.
A quick look at the stats shows that the Eagles have won each of their last nine home games against the Giants, but the sportsbooks tell us that the Giants have covered the spread in seven of their last eight games, but despite that, we like the Eagles covering the spread in this one since they have had a playoff bye to heal up and rest, plus they get to play in front of a home crowd
The Eagles have the third most productive offense in the league after averaging almost 390 total yards per game, while the Giants’ offense is ranked 18th overall after posting 334 total yards per game, their 4th ranked rushing attack starring RB Saquon Barkley a big reason for that, this week facing a Philly run defense ranked 17th in the NFL, the Eagles 2-0 against NY this season.

So far, the playoffs have included plenty of high-scoring games, so we anticipate this matchup to be no different, these two offenses typically combining for 49.6 points per week, just over what this points total bet from Caesars Sportsbook is listing, which is the bet we like given how many talented playmakers from both teams will be on the field this Saturday.
Should this become a game dominated by the defenses, these two teams typically give up a combined 42 points which is considerably less than what this bet allows for, so keep that in mind before placing the wager and check for any injuries of serious weather that could put a damper on these offenses, though chances are they will be firing on all cylinders.
One matchup to watch for is Eagles deep threat receiver A.J. Brown who will fully test the Giants’ secondary including CBs Adoree’ Jackson and Fabian Moreau and nickelback Darney Holmes and draw plenty of double teams with help from safeties Julian Love and Xavier McKinney, that group ranked 14th against the pass this season allowing 214 air yards per week.

FanDuel Sportsbook is running a Divisional Round special that has the bettor guessing which player will score the first touchdown of this game, with a full array of playmakers and odds for each one, though we like Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (+600) to score first, with a $100 bet paying the winners $600 plus the wager, a hefty payout if Hurts, who has 35 total TDs this season, comes through.
According to the oddsmakers, the Philly Eagles have scored the first touchdown in each of their last seven games against NFC East opponents, so if it is not Hurts, it could also be RB Miles Sanders (+700) who has 11 rushing TDs this season, though none since Week 14 when he posted two scores in a win over the Giants during their first divisional matchup of the year.
For Giants fans, there are two favorites to win this bet – RB Saquon Barkley (+800) who has 10 total TDs this season – all from rushing although he does have 8 career receiving TDs as well; also for New York is WR DeVonta Smith, a second-year player who has posted seven TDs on the season, though none since his two scores in Week 15 during the team’s win over Dallas.
