The Lions announced their arrival on the scene with a win on opening night against the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. They took their foot off the gas in Week 2 but bounced back with an impressive 20-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. Now, Dan Campbell’s squad has a chance to solidify its command over the NFC North in primetime.
Whereas the Lions were favored to win the division before the year, the Packers were expected to finish in the bottom half. They’ve defied those odds and are off to a 2-1 start, most recently beating the New Orleans Saints 18-17. Jordan Love has seven touchdowns and only one interception and is tied for the sixth-best QBR in the league through three games in his first season as the full-time starter.
Team | Spread | Money Line | Over/Under |

The Lions have changed quite a bit since last year. Despite being young on both sides of the ball, they’re playing with more maturity than they were a year ago and are continuing to progress under coach Campbell’s tenure.
The Lions’ offense isn’t as explosive as it was last year, but that’s also not an outright negative. A majority of their games in 2022 devolved into shootouts, which is not conducive to winning long-term. They look to have more control of the tempo and flow of the game, even if their scoring output has declined.
Detroit’s defense has also improved significantly and now ranks 15th in points allowed after finishing 28th in 2022. They’ve generated pressure on opposing quarterbacks and are fifth in rushing yards allowed per game at 72.
On the other side, the Packers are eighth in scoring offense and differential. Love has yet to make any glaring mistakes, and his time backing up Aaron Rodgers has allowed him to come into his first season as the starter with real maturity. Their one major weakness is their running defense, which is 27th and allows 136.7 yards per game.
Our best bet for this matchup is the Lions’ moneyline. Although the Packers have impressed, the Lions are more complete and have a coach who is willing to take the necessary risks to win primetime rivalry matchups. Regardless, one thing is clear. This is going to be an entertaining match to watch, and it's a fantastic choice for a parlay bet.
