Jeremiyah Love is the Most Unpredictable Player in the 2026 NFL Draft

Everyone is trying to discern where Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love will play his professional football later this fall.

At least four teams are firmly in the mix to land the open-field savant, who racked up 1,372 rushing yards, 280 receiving yards, and 21 total touchdowns for the Fighting Irish as a junior. Teams – some unknown – picking in additional slots could also be in the hunt for his services, especially as there are several teams that are reportedly interested in trading back in the first round.

Tracking Jeremiyah Love draft pick markets at prediction platforms suggests that he’s most likely to fall in one of four destinations. As smokescreens continue to be released and information trickles down the media landscape, here’s the latest buzz on where “Love” is in the air.

Jeremiyah Love is Most Unpredictable Player in NFL Draft

Jeremiyah Love Draft Markets Swirling

Love has been expected to be the selection of the Tennessee Titans at four for more than a month. According to real-time trading data from prediction platform Kalshi, Love has a 43 percent chance to line up next to Cam Ward in the Titans’ offense next season.

The Arizona Cardinals, who pick one slot before the Titans at three, have been a relative mystery throughout the draft process. They could feasibly target Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, Texas Tech edge-rusher David Bailey, or do-it-all Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese, all of whom play at valuable positions and positions of need.

ESPN reporter Adam Schefter threw a wrench into the pre-draft discourse on Monday when he revealed that Love was gaining traction to be the third pick and the first of the Cardinals’ 2026 draft haul. Love had only been given a seven percent chance to make his way to Arizona at midnight on Monday, but he shot as high as 29 percent on Monday and sits at 20 percent as of Tuesday morning.

The Titans are still the leaders in the Jeremiyah Love next team draft market at 43 percent. While clearly ahead of the next-closest player, that’s significantly below the 60 percent chance he had on Sunday afternoon.

The New York Giants (fifth pick) and Washington Commanders (seventh pick) are the two remaining teams with supposed significant interest in drafting the dual-threat back.

The G-Men—who recently traded defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals for the 10th pick in the draft—are supposedly enamored by Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles, Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, and Love. They soared to a 36 percent chance to draft Love on Sunday at noon but settled at their current line of 13 percent.

The Commanders aggressively attempted to add playmakers to their offense in free agency, although they came up short on several bids. They are supposedly enamored by the prospect of slotting Love into their backfield, but they also sit at just a 13 percent chance to draft the young playmaker.

Who Drafts a Running Back That High?

NFL general managers, insiders, and media members have been very clear in their assessment of this draft class: positional value is being thrown out the window.

Teams normally care about the dollars-for-dollars approach of the draft. In the case of Love, the Cardinals would pay him more guaranteed money than any running back in NFL history if they selected him third overall. They would also owe him the seventh-largest RB contract on an average annual value basis.

On the flip side, taking Bailey third would earn him the ninth-most guaranteed dollars and the 30th-highest annual value contract among all edge-rushers.

From that perspective, most drafts wouldn’t see players at low-value positions such as running back, linebacker, and safety drafted very early. This draft is unique in that there is only one projected first-round quarterback, there don’t seem to be elite left tackle prospects, and the top wide receivers have varying concerns or question marks.

Additionally, the best and most talented players largely play positions that aren’t “valuable.” That includes Styles, Downs, and Love, among others, and opens the door to a number of unexpected or uncommon scenarios.

While NFL Draft prediction markets can capture the sentiment of the public, they don’t fairly reflect the possible realities that exist if trades occur. The Giants at five and Cleveland Browns at six have both been mentioned as possible spots for a team to trade up, meaning that if Love falls, a team could swoop in and grab him.

Even with there only being hours until the draft, NFL prediction markets will continue to evolve with every piece of news

As one of the best and most enticing prospects in the draft, Love is one of the first dominoes that will trigger a chain reaction when it falls.
