It’s the NFL’s Week 14 and the 5-7 Las Vegas Raiders are still shooting for the playoffs this week against the 3-9 Los Angeles Rams, who can act as the spoilers since they are on a six-game losing streak compared with the three-game win run that the Raiders find themselves on, right now on the cusp of qualifying for an AFC Wildcard Playoff seed, but still a few wins away.
The Las Vegas Raiders failed to cover the spread in each of their last eight games as road favorites, but they are hot this week and the Rams are not, the Raiders with a top-8 offense in Week 14 and the Rams with a 31st-ranked offensive attack, though LA’s 14th best defense starring CB Jalen Ramsey outranks LV’s 27th ranked defense with DE Maxx Crosby QB hunting.
The LA Rams have been spiraling downward losing each of their last six games and at this point, if the Raiders catch an early lead that might be enough to sustain them though these are all paid professionals whose athletic pride is undeniable, QB Derek Carr’s desire is palpable and he’s only starting to re-click with WR Davante Adams so expect them to cover the spread here.

The oddsmakers tell us that four of the Vegas Raiders' last five Thursday games have gone over the total points line, certainly something to consider when making this points total bet, but also weigh in the fact that they are playing the LA Rams whose offense is unproductive this season, ranked 29th in scoring and 30th overall, the results of injuries and an ever-rotating roster.
Here's the basic math on this bet – the Raiders' offense averages 24.3 points per game but the Rams’ offense only scores 16.8 points per game, that total of 41.1 well under what the oddsmakers are predicting here, with both defenses allowing a combined 48 points, that’s still just under the bet so that is what we are taking, especially given the Rams’ backup QB will play.
Some fun matchups to watch for that could affect the scorings are Raiders RB Josh Jacobs who leads the league in total rushing yards (1,303), rushing yards per game (108.6), total touches (284), and more, now with 10 TDs total as he faces a Rams defensive front line without future Hall of Fame DT Aaron Donald (ankle, out) and LB Travin Howard (hip) questionable to play.

Here’s a fun way to add an extra thrill to this game, especially for fans of the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense, this bet asking bettors to guess if they think RB Josh Jacobs can run for at least 100 yards and WR Davante Adams can catch at least 100 yards worth of footballs, the win and subsequent payout coming if both playmakers come through and each has a spectacular Week 14 game.
For bets like this, consider past performance first and check to see how often each of those two players hits that 100+ yard mark – and so far this season Jacobs has posted six 100+ yards rushing games out of twelve games total, or half, whereas Adams has put up seven such games, and they’ve done it in the same game four times this season, so it looks like a good bet.
A $100 bet here will payout $300 plus your original wager for the win, and all it takes is two big games for Jacobs and Adams against a Rams defense ranked 14th overall (22nd versus the pass, 4th versus the run), a likely event this late in the season against these tired Rams, but make sure to check for injuries before you place your wager (both playmakers are healthy now).
