“I’ve never looked more forward to watching NFL than this weekend!”
Bill is as giddy as a kid in a candy store, or at least a kid that absolutely loves football. Why shouldn’t he be? Arguably one of the most exciting parts of the NFL season, the NFL playoffs start this coming weekend. With the weekend schedule set, who do the guys see coming out the other side?
One of the most notable games is the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins matchup. With the sports story heard around the world, Bill’s Damar Hamlin is hopeful to make an appearance to cheer his team on. Bill lives for these stories, “To see someone come back from something like that… this is going to be great for Buffalo.” Jon agrees, “They’re going to go crazy!”
With the Dolphins’ starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa out, Bill sees Buffalo coming out strong in the first half. In fact, Bill has so much confidence in Buffalo that he might just place a little bet!
The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens game is already surrounded with controversy, as Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson looks doubtful. Bill elaborates, “I’m hearing he isn’t going to play… he’s still not being paid what he wanted.” With that said, Bill might be leaning toward the Bengals, “I might like Cincy in a teaser.”
With the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC, the 49ers will be putting their rookie quarterback Brock Purdy to the test. Even with the burning question of ‘can the 49ers win with a 7th-round rookie quarterback,’ the answer from the guys is a resounding, “Yes!” Bill is feeling the 49ers, “It’s the wise guys’ choice!”
With the betting line set out for the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants, Bill can’t help but be impressed with how great the line is, “It’s perfect… I may even lean toward the Giants here. Brian Daboll will get coach of the year.” Jon knows that it’s going to be a tough match, “Both teams have been good at staying in the game this season.”
After all of this analysis, here comes the real kicker: with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers set to take on Jon’s Dallas Cowboys, he lets out these words, “They’re not making it out of the first round.” This shocks Bill, especially after a season of Jon confidently stating that they would make the Super Bowl. Jon goes into more detail, “They’re against Tom Brady, and Dak Prescott is going to throw interception after interception.”
Ultimately, this admittance leads to a conclusion that you might want to sit down for; Jon might bet the Bucs moneyline. Bill is stunned, “Oh my god!” It’s been a funny season for the Buccaneers, as Bill points out, “It’s unusual to see division champs that have gone 8-9.” As a whole, Bill goes back to the mantra any given Sunday, “There is not one standout team, even considering the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. You just never know!”
It wouldn’t be the NFL playoffs without some betting tips from the Krackman himself! To start, the guys dive into whether homefield is overrated in the Wild Card round, especially considering there are two underdogs playing at home. Bill doesn’t think so, “Homefield means a lot in these types of games, just wait and see what happens in Buffalo!”
Secondly, are warm weather teams impacted at all when they have to travel to play cold weather teams? Bill scoffs at this, “Like Miami at Buffalo? It’s an overrated concept… they’re professionals, they know how to handle it.”
Thirdly, it’s important to pay attention to turnovers as they mean more in the playoffs. Bill chimes in, “The games are tighter, there’s lower scoring… look out for low-turnover margin teams.”
Lastly, does quarterback experience matter? Bill thinks so, “In a sense, it means a lot.” With Patrick Mahomes and Brady leading the charge with experience, quarterbacks such as Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence sit at the other end of that spectrum. However, Bill doesn’t see that as a detriment, “Look at what Joe Burrow did not too long ago, he got his team to the playoffs! Anyone of these guys have the potential to do it.”
With the NFL playoffs soon to be underway, keep these tips in your back pocket and your chances of piling up the winning bets are going to skyrocket!
