Big Pirate is a new social casino that’s big on all things pirate, social, and gaming. It’s the first sweepstakes casino from Rafflefy Limited, with an even newer sister site Dorados launching in 2026.

Big Pirate has a unique adventure game alongside the standard casino-style library, plus a host of gamification features. I climbed aboard Big Pirate to find out if this social casino is set to sink or sail.

Big Pirate Promotions and Bonuses

Big Pirate has a treasure trove of promotions and bonuses, including some innovative formats. There’s a welcome bonus and boosted first-purchase offer, as well as daily rewards, regular challenges, a prize wheel, and a unique adventure reward game.

Big Pirate Welcome Bonus

New players are welcomed aboard with a Big Pirate no deposit bonus of 20,000 Gold Coins, 1 Diamond and 1 Rum. That’s a free gift of all three virtual currencies used on this platform, so players can try out all gameplay modes straight away. I’ll explain more about the Rum in the island building section below.

It’s not the highest welcome offer as many sweepstakes no deposit bonuses include more coins: 500,000 GC at Stormrush or 6 SC at American Luck, for example. It’s enough to get started, however, and there are plenty more Big Pirate bonuses.

Big Pirate Promo Code

There’s no Big Pirate promo code needed for the sign-up bonus: simply register through our link and verify your email address to claim.

Big Pirate First Purchase Offer

Big Pirate First Purchase Offer

New players can grab a 150% boost with the Big Pirate first purchase bonus. Claim 250,000 GC, 1 Rum, 1 Claw and 25 free Diamonds for $9.99. The standard $9.99 pack gets you 100,000 GC plus 10 free Diamonds, so the welcome offer has an added Rum and Claw bonus on top of the coin boost.

I also had the option of a 10% boosted “Daily Offer” for $29.99 when I signed up, plus other time-limited offers during my week-long Big Pirate casino review.

Daily Login Bonus

The Big Pirate daily bonus is a progressive streak reward, awarded automatically after logging in. Here’s what I got over a week:

  • Day 1: 5,000 GC

  • Day 2: 10,000 GC

  • Day 3: 15,000 GC

  • Day 4: 20,000 GC + 0.5 Diamond

  • Day 5: 25,000 GC

  • Day 6: 50,000 GC

  • Day 7: 100,000 GC + 0.5 Diamond + 1 Rum

I’d like to see larger or more frequent Diamond rewards, but the total weekly streak is still an impressive bonus: 225,000 GC, 1 Diamond and 1 Rum just for logging in for seven days.

On top of the sweepstakes daily login bonus, the Big Pirate island building game has a daily rewards calendar. Open the game and click the calendar to claim 1 free Rum every day, plus an extra Rum after seven consecutive days.

Daily Login Bonus

Wheel of Gold

Wheel of Gold

Earn one spin on the Wheel of Gold for every 100,000 GC played. There are 20 possible prizes from 500 GC to 100,000 GC, and the probability of each prize is listed in the terms and conditions. The most common result is 500 Gold with a probability of 19.70%.

I appreciate the transparency of showing the prize probabilities in the T&Cs, as most casinos don’t display that information.

Challenges and Tournaments

Challenges and Tournaments

Complete daily and weekly challenges for Gold and Rum rewards. Each challenge shows the requirements, relevant games, and a progress bar. I got a pop-up notification when I completed a challenge and prizes were credited automatically.

These challenges are an easy way to grab extra rewards for your regular gameplay, and the game-specific challenges are an incentive to try new titles.

Big Pirate runs regular tournaments, where players compete for a spot on the leaderboard and a share of the prize pool. During my Big Pirate review, I spotted the Monthly Race (2,500 Diamonds prize pool), Slot of the Week (1,000 Diamonds), and Live Social Casino tournament (1,000,000 GC).

Big Pirate VIP Program

The Big Pirate VIP program continues the seafaring scoundrels theme, but beyond the aesthetics, this promotion falls flat. There are five levels and new players start at the Deckhand tier. This tier gets the “VIP benefit” of a 24/7 live chat, and you’ll have to climb two levels to get the next VIP reward.

There’s no information on exactly how many points it takes to climb the tiers, or how these are calculated. Big Pirate has the outline of a decent VIP program here, but this ship isn’t quite ready to set sail. Here’s an overview of the Big Pirate VIP rewards:

Big Pirate Island Building

Big Pirate Island Building

Big Pirate Island Building

Big Pirate Island Building

Big Pirate has a unique game feature called, confusingly, Big Pirate. Players use Rum to spin the Big Pirate reel and win coins or special combos, with GC and Diamond prizes as you progress through the game.

Collect Rum from the welcome bonus, daily login rewards, or as a prize from challenges and tournaments. You’ll also earn 1 Rum for every 10 Diamonds played in the Big Pirate sweepstakes casino, and there’s a free gift of Rum with selected Gold Coin bundles.

Use the in-game coins to build and upgrade your island, level up to new map locations and claim upgrade rewards. Land special combos to attack other players, shield your island, or raid other players’ treasure chests. Reach Big Pirate Milestones to earn rewards, with a main prize of up to 10,000 Diamonds.

The Big Pirate island building game feels similar to popular mobile strategy games. There’s a video tutorial and on-screen hints when you first open the game, but it’s not as complicated as it might sound. Essentially, Big Pirate has a built-in narrative game alongside the familiar social casino offering.

I’m a big fan of this extra gamification and love the immersive design. The mechanics are equally well-designed: playing this game adds to the social casino experience with extra GC and Diamond rewards, and sweepstakes gameplay builds up the Rum currency in turn.

Big Pirate User Experience

Big Pirate User Experience

My initial impression of Big Pirate was strong: it looks incredible and the layout is straightforward. The website makes full use of the cartoon pirate theme with graphics, animations, and text consistently themed at every opportunity.

It uses an attractive sea-green background and wood texture while ensuring that all text is clear and easy to read. I navigated to key pages and information with ease and found all the essentials in an extensive FAQ on the homepage.

Desktop

The side menu shows your balance, quick-access promos, a few games tabs, plus language settings and the help center accessible in one click. Clicking the icon in the top-right corner opens the account menu with access to the coin store, redemptions, account details, and social gaming features.

The home page features a large banner showing the Big Pirate island-building game, with buttons for features like the claw machine and reward market on top. Underneath is a header menu with game filters, and scrolling down you’ll see various game collections, coin bundles, providers and more.

I have a small complaint with the menus: there’s no easy-access button for “All Games” in the sidebar, lobby header, or on the homepage. If you scroll all the way to the bottom, there’s a link in the footer, but who looks there first for the most obvious button? The games organization is otherwise pretty impressive, although it could use more specific filters.

I’m seriously impressed with the Big Pirate user experience. New sweepstakes casinos often use a theme to stand out, but this is one of the best I’ve seen in terms of quality, consistency, and straight up entertainment. It’s smooth sailing when it comes to navigating Big Pirate and using the bonus features. The extra animations and graphics on the site don’t slow it down: loading speeds are fast and gameplay is smooth.

Mobile

Mobile

The Big Pirate mobile site has the same visual theme but a few changes in navigation from the desktop version. The homepage has the pirate island game at the top and games underneath, plus an added header to select “Social Casino” and “Social Live Casino”. It’s a handy feature that makes browsing Big Pirate games more intuitive on mobile.

The sidebar menu from the desktop site is accessed via the hamburger icon in the top left corner, and the account menu is located in the top right corner. Scrolling to the bottom of the homepage, I found the footer neatly organized into drop-down tabs, rather than listed individually. It’s another small tweak that adapts the platform to suit mobile users, and makes the mobile design feel intentional rather than an afterthought.

The island building game is optimized for mobile devices and runs smoothly. I didn’t experience any lag across the games collection and can comfortably say this is one of the top sweepstakes casinos for mobile gaming.

App

There isn’t an official Big Pirate mobile app available to download, although players can save a browser shortcut to their device homescreen for on-the-go access.

Always check the platform for information about a sweepstakes casino app. I spotted a listing for a Big Pirate app for Android, but it’s from a different developer and isn’t affiliated with this casino.

At the time of my Big Pirate review, the games library totaled nearly 3,000 titles. This impressive collection includes a well-stocked live social casino, RNG table games, arcade-style games and thousands of slots.

Big Pirate features games from 46 leading providers. Clicking the “Providers” button shows each studio and how many games it has on Big Pirate. I was happy to see my favorite, Hacksaw Gaming, in the top spot with 246 games. These are a few of the reputable software providers on Big Pirate casino:

  • Hacksaw Gaming

  • Kalamba

  • 3 Oaks Gaming

  • Red Rake

  • Evolution

  • Novomatic

  • Big Time Gaming

  • NetEnt

Slot Games

Big Pirate has over 2,800 slot games including 180 jackpot slots and plenty of new releases. I clicked the “Slots” tab to browse the category but there are no secondary filters to refine the results. With that many games on offer, having filter options for Megaways, themes, or classic slots would simplify the browsing experience.

Scrolling through the slots page, I recognized some crash and instant win games. These would be better placed in a separate category as they get lost in the sea of slots.

The jackpot slots section is mostly made up of fixed-jackpot “Hold ‘n’ Win” games. Look out for the “Jackpot Hunt” sticker on the game card to identify the progressive jackpot games.

I checked out the “Exclusive” section, which is another area Big Pirate excels in. There are 69 games available, from studios like ELA Games and Shady Lady. I opened up ELA’s Kraken Bay—sticking with the pirate theme—and played a few GC rounds. I came away with a 300 GC win, and a 5,000 GC bonus for completing one of my daily challenges.

Table Games

Big Pirate has a total of 59 RNG video table games. That’s a competitive number, considering some of the best sweepstakes casinos don’t have any.

There’s a good variety here: 15 blackjack games, 13 roulette wheels, 7 poker variants, and 8 baccarat titles, plus other card, dice, and ball-drop games.

I headed for the familiar territory of Evolution’s First Person titles, playing with the Diamonds from the sweepstakes no deposit bonus. The welcome offer isn’t restricted to slot games or particular titles, so I knew any Diamond winnings would go toward my redeemable balance.

Live Dealer

Big Pirate is flying the flag for live social casino gaming with a stand-out collection of 113 live games. I spotted casino classics like poker, roulette, and blackjack, plus 18 live game shows and novelty formats.

Having no game restrictions on the Big Pirate bonus meant I could dive into the live games library straight away. I started with Lightning Roulette from Evolution, but there was an issue with the audio stream so I was playing without the sound. Luckily there are 33 live roulette games in total, so I hopped into a different stream.

I then switched things up by trying out Crash Live from Iconic 21. The format works well live, as the game host engages with players in the chat while each round re-sets. Crash games can get repetitive quickly, but I hung around for this game, enjoying the social element and light-hearted banter as much as the game itself.

Variety Games

Variety games are a missed opportunity on Big Pirate. There are plenty of them, but it’s a treasure hunt to find any as they’re hidden away in the library without a dedicated filter. These are some of the 70+ variety and instant-win game types I spotted on Big Pirate:

  • Crash (19)

  • Plinko (9)

  • Keno (6)

  • Scratch cards (13)

  • Tap games (4)

  • Fish shooter (9)

  • Bingo (6)

The sidebar has a tab for scratch and bingo games, but this only had the 13 scratch games and none of the bingo titles. I’d like to see Big Pirate add more filters, or combine all these games under one tab. These kinds of variety games are popular so making them stand out would benefit players as well as the platform.

There’s also a Bonus Crab claw machine game. Players need Claws for this game instead of GC or Diamonds. You can get claws from the shop, or in exchange for Rum in the Reward Market. Bonus Crab prizes include up to two Diamonds or up to 30 free spins for Diamond gameplay.

Big Pirate Payments

There’s no purchase necessary to play at Big Pirate. Players can obtain coins for free, or choose to purchase an optional coin bundle.

Big Pirate Payment Details
Payment methodsVisa Credit Card, Mastercard Credit Card, Bank Transfer
Minimum purchase$1.99
Maximum purchase$99.99
Minimum prize redemption50 Diamonds
Prize redemption timeUp to 72 hours

Purchase options are limited to just credit cards, although customer support told me payment methods can vary depending on location. I was pleasantly surprised by the low $1.99 minimum purchase, which gets 20,000 GC plus 2 free Diamonds.

I bought the welcome pack for $9.99 and paid with my Mastercard credit card. The whole process took a couple of minutes and my coins were credited straight away.

Prize redemptions are also limited: I only had the option of a bank transfer. I’d like to see Big Pirate offer e-wallets for purchases and redemptions, or at least a gift card option as bank transfer prizes are typically slower than most other payments.

I managed to build up a treasure trove of 50 Diamonds from playing games on Big Pirate, so I headed to the redemption tab. After requesting my bank transfer prize, the redemption took two days to process and another day to arrive in my bank account. I was happy with that timeframe, but I’m used to faster prize redemptions from sweepstakes apps with e-wallets or gift card prizes.

Big Pirate Customer Support

Big Pirate has all hands on deck when it comes to customer support. There’s a 24/7 live chat with support in English and Spanish, and email support. For general information, there’s a handy Help Centre and a comprehensive FAQ at the bottom of the home page.

I opened the live chat to ask about bonuses and connected to an agent in under a minute. Sonya answered my questions in detail and explained how the daily bonus works, as I couldn’t find much info on the website. I used the live chat a couple more times and found the customer support friendly, prompt, and helpful each time.

My email enquiries received the same helpful responses and I never waited more than a few hours for a reply. I appreciate the availability of a second support language as well, but unfortunately I don’t have the Spanish skills to test that in full!

Where is Big Pirate Legal?

Big Pirate is legal in most US states. It might be named like an outlaw, but Big Pirate operates according to sweepstakes regulations in each state.

As such, players in states with a sweepstake gaming ban won’t be able to use Big Pirate. These excluded states are California, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, and Washington.

Obtaining Coins at Big Pirate

Big Pirate uses virtual currencies for gameplay, but with an added third currency on top of the usual two-coin sweepstakes gaming model.

The “standard” currency is Gold Coins, used for playing casino-style games for fun. These are given out for free in the welcome bonus, daily login reward and other Big Pirate promos. Gold Coins can also be purchased from the coin store, but they have no real-money value and cannot be exchanged for prizes.

Diamonds are the “premium” or “sweepstakes” currency. Diamonds won through gameplay can be redeemed for cash prizes. They cannot be purchased directly, only obtained for free. Diamonds are awarded in various Big Pirate bonuses and as a free bonus with Gold Coin purchases.

The third currency is unique to Big Pirate: Rum. Like Diamonds, Rum cannot be purchased in the coin store and is awarded as a free bonus. Players also earn 1 Rum for every 10 Diamonds played. Rum can’t be used in the regular games lobby. It’s used to spin the Big Pirate island building game, or it can be exchanged in the Reward Market.

If your head’s spinning, you’re not seasick—just confused by the Big Pirate triple currency! Here’s a side-by-side guide to the Big Pirate virtual coins:

How To Redeem Prizes at Big Pirate

Players can redeem Diamonds for cash prizes at Big Pirate. There’s a 1x playthrough requirement before Diamonds are eligible for redemption, from a minimum of 50 Diamonds for a $50 prize.

Click “Redeem” in the sidebar menu or account menu. Enter the amount of Diamonds you want to redeem and confirm your payment information. During my Big Pirate review, the only option was a bank transfer. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to fully verify your account before redeeming any prizes.

What’s The Difference Between Big Pirate and a Real Money Casino?

Big Pirate is a social sweepstakes platform, not a real money casino. The biggest difference is the playable currency: Big Pirate uses three virtual currencies, not real-money. These can be obtained for free, and there’s no purchase necessary to play.

As such, Big Pirate operates under sweepstakes regulations on a state-by-state basis, rather than strict gambling regulations. This means there are 35+ Big Pirate legal states, compared to just a handful of states with legal online gambling.

Unlike most real money casinos, sweepstakes casinos don’t usually have a mobile app version. There’s no Big Pirate app, but the website is mobile optimized and users can play on any device.

Big Pirate has a similar games library to real money casinos. The Big Pirate library is more extensive than most social casinos, with thousands of slots, table games, and live dealer games. Some software providers only license their games to real money casinos, so Big Pirate doesn’t have studios like Pragmatic Play or Light & Wonder.

Big Pirate Safety Review

Big Pirate leaves behind the brigand branding when it comes to safety: I found industry-standard safety and security measures in place in all the key areas.

Big Pirate is the first sweepstakes casino from Rafflefy Limited. It may not be a well-known operator, but company information is transparent and accessible online, including the address, registration details, and official website.

Players have to complete identity verification before making a purchase or redeeming a prize. Big Pirate keeps user information protected with SSL and TLS encryption, and the website uses a secure HTML connection.

How We Rate Sweepstakes Casinos

Every WSN sweepstakes casino review follows our thorough research and rating process over a week of hands-on testing. This ensures our content is accurate, unbiased, and consistent. We use the tried-and-tested BetEdge methodology to guide our research and evaluate key factors:

  • User Experience: We test the platform on multiple devices, considering navigation, accessibility, and design. Big Pirate scored highly for attractive design and usability on desktop and mobile browsers.

  • Games: We try out a variety of games in both currency modes. We’re judging the quality of games and the variety of categories and providers. Big Pirate ticks all the boxes here—the only improvement would be more specific filters to search the library.

  • Promotions: We sign up and claim all the available promotions for new and existing players. We consider what the offer includes and how easy it is to claim, plus any restrictions on using the bonus. Big Pirate offers a middling sweepstakes no deposit bonus, rounded out with daily login rewards and ongoing challenges.

  • Purchase and Redemption: We evaluate pricing, value, and payment methods for optional purchases, and whether any features are restricted before purchasing. We look at prize redemption requirements, withdrawal options, and payout timeframes. Big Pirate has limited payment options, but a competitively low minimum redemption.

  • Customer Support: We contact the casinos customer support via all available channels. We ask real player questions and evaluate the response time, level of information, and consistency between channels. Big Pirate covers all bases with detailed policies, an FAQ, email support, and a 24/7 live chat.

Why You Should Trust Us

WSN is committed to providing accurate and objective reviews to support our readers in making informed gaming choices. Our team has decades of industry experience and a personal background in igaming.

Our experts sign up to each platform directly, experiencing the site as a new player. We spend hours rigorously testing every aspect of the site to give you our unbiased review. If anything is unclear or causes concern, we say it how we see it.

Safety and security are paramount: we only recommend casinos we trust and would happily use ourselves.

Big Pirate Final Verdict

Big Pirate has set sail on the sweepstakes seas, and I’m definitely on board. The interface looks great and the pirate theme is one of the most detailed, consistent designs at any sweepstakes casino. It’s mobile-optimized, so players can enjoy gaming on their preferred device.

This platform has a treasure trove of casino-style games and an innovative adventure game that sets it apart from the competition. Even without the island-building game, Big Pirate has one of the best live social casinos out there.

The welcome bonus could be bigger, but there’s a good balance of the three virtual currencies. The progressive daily bonus and ongoing challenges offer more opportunities to top up coins for free, and the coin store has a range of bundles and promo packs. Prize redemptions start at 50 Diamonds, lower than the standard 100 Sweeps Coins at other platforms.

Big Pirate has a few areas to improve. Payment options are limited and prize redemptions are only available via bank transfer. The VIP program looks good, but isn’t fully developed. My main issue is with the library menus and games filters. The Big Pirate library has a lot of selling points, but the way it’s laid out at the moment doesn’t do it justice.

There are pros and cons to any gaming platform, and these are fairly minor issues. I think the platform is robust and Big Pirate has nailed the theming, so with a little refinement it could be one of my top picks.

Responsible Gameplay

Sweepstakes gaming is a form of entertainment but sometimes, gaming habits can become a problem. Big Pirate acknowledges that risk and has a detailed Responsible Social Gaming Policy to support players.

The policy details the self-directed tools players can implement, as well as providing further information about problem gaming and age verification. Players can access support services like Gaming Addicts Anonymous and American Addiction Centers.

Big Pirate offers purchase limits, game time limits, temporary breaks, and self exclusion. To apply a limit, you’ll need to email support. Requests are processed promptly and players can customize the limits as needed, but integrating these tools would be better. If players need support to manage gaming, having to leave the site to make that request adds an unnecessary step.

For more information about responsible gaming, head to the WSN Responsible Gambling Center. You’ll find a self-assessment questionnaire and a host of helpful guides on managing your gameplay.
