Brian Ortega | TALE OF THE TAPE | Yair Rodriguez |
31 | Age | 29 |
5 ft. 9 in. | Height | 5 ft. 11 in. |
69 in. | Reach | 71 in. |
15-2, 1 no-contest | Record | 13-3, 1 no-contest |
After losing his first title shot to Max Holloway (his first professional loss overall), Brian Ortega bounced back with a win over the Korean Zombie. This led to a second title shot against current champion Alexander Volkonovski last September.
Despite great chances to finish, Ortega ultimately lost the fight via unanimous decision and has yet to fight in 2022.
Yair Rodriguez was riding back-to-back wins heading into his most recent contest – a fight against Max Holloway last November. Rodriguez was defeated by unanimous decision in what was his second Fight of the Night.
Ortega boasts the grappling advantage – holding the rank of first-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
But Rodriguez will have the physical advantages – standing two-inches taller and having a two-inch reach advantage over Ortega.

Michelle Waterson | TALE OF THE TAPE | Amanda Lemos |
36 | Age | 35 |
5 ft. 3 in. | Height | 5 ft. 4 in. |
62 in. | Reach | 65 in. |
18-9 | Record | 11-2-1 |
Despite losing her most recent fight to Jessica Andrade this past April via submission, Amanda Lemos is still listed as the biggest betting favorite on the main card this Saturday.
Prior to that loss, the Brazilian fighter had won five straight in the UFC.
Although boasting a black belt in freestyle karate and a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Michelle Waterson is just 1-3 in her last four fights. Her last fight was a flyweight bout against Marina Rodriguez last May. She lost via unanimous decision.
This will be Waterson’s first fight in over one year. He is the shorter fighter and will be at a reach disadvantage of three-inches.
Li Jingliang | TALE OF THE TAPE | Muslim Salikhov |
34 | Age | 38 |
6 ft. | Height | 5 ft. 11 in. |
72 in. | Reach | 69.5 in. |
18-7 | Record | 18-2 |
With 199 professional kickboxing bouts under his belt, Muslim Salikhov has gone undefearted since losing his UFC debut in 2017, winning his last five straight.
He most recently defeated Francisco Trinaldo via unanimous decision one year ago in June.
Li Jingliang has gone just 2-2 over his last four fights. Following a knockout win over a returning Santiago Ponzinibbio, Jingliang suffered a first-round submission loss to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 267 last October.
This will be the first fight of 2022 for both men. Jingliang will stand one-inch taller and have a 2.5-inch reach advantage.
However the Dagestani fighter Salikhov is listed as a -175 favorite.
Matt Schnell | TALE OF THE TAPE | Su Mudaerji |
32 | Age | 26 |
5 ft. 8 in. | Height | 5 ft. 8 in. |
72.5 in. | Reach | 72 in. |
15-6, 1 no-contest | Record | 16-4 |
1-2 with one no-contest over his last four fights, Matt Schnell hopes to bounce back following his submission loss to Brandon Royval which took place at UFC 274 just two-months ago.
Standing across the octagon from Schnell will be Su Mudaerji, who is riding a three-fight winning streak heading into this contest. However his last win took place over one-year ago; a decision win over Zarrukh Adashev in January 2021.
Both men stand at equal height and Schnell will have just the slightest advantage in reach. However, despite his inactivity, Mudaerji is listed as the -260 favorite.
Shane Burgos | TALE OF THE TAPE | Charles Jourdain |
31 | Age | 26 |
5 ft. 11 in. | Height | 5 ft. 9 in. |
75.5 in. | Reach | 69 in. |
14-3 | Record | 13-4-1 |
After suffering back-to-back fight of the night losses, Shane Burgos got back into the win column with his most recent decision win over Billy Quarantillo at UFC 268 last November.
His opponent, Charles Jourdain, is currently riding a two-fight winning streak – most recently submitting Lando Vannata in the first round of their fight this past April.
Burgo will enter the contest as a -175 favorite. He boasts a two-inch height and 6.5-inch reach advantage over Jourdain.
However Jourdain does hold a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Lauren Murphy | TALE OF THE TAPE | Miesha Tate |
38 | Age | 35 |
5 ft. 5 in. | Height | 5 ft. 6 in. |
67 in. | Reach | 65 in. |
15-5 | Record | 19-8 |
Originally scheduled to fight on May 14, former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will now make her flyweight division debut this Saturday night.
Tate returned to MMA in 2021 with a win over Marion Renau after retiring from the sport in 2016. She most recently lost a decision to Ketlen Vieira – making her 1-1 since returning.
Lauren Murphy was riding a five-fight winning streak into her most recent fight at UFC 266 in which she challenged Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight title. She was defeated via fourth-round TKO.
Tate will stand one-inch taller but Murphy will have a two-inch reach advantage.
