World Cup BTTS Predictions 2026 06 18 Richie Laryea Canada

Czechia vs. South Africa: BTTS No (-125) at BetMGM

Czechia and South Africa have ground to make up in Group A. Both sides suffered defeat on matchday one, Czechia losing 2-1 to South Korea and South Africa going down 2-0 to Mexico. The winner of this contest will revive its hopes of achieving a place in the round of 32, a pivotal factor for those adjusting their World Cup predictions. The loser will be staring the unwanted prospect of early elimination in the face. The World Cup only began a week ago but the stakes are already high for these two teams.

There was one key commonality across Czechia and South Africa’s performances last week: neither side carried much of an attacking threat from open play. Mercifully for Czechia, it at least caused South Korea problems from set-pieces. South Africa, on the other hand, did not give Mexico’s backline anything to think about whatsoever.

That is a worry ahead of this match against Czechia. South Africa also drew a blank in its final warmup friendly against Nicaragua, which is not exactly a soccer powerhouse. Toothlessness in the final third is a well-established weakness for Bafana Bafana.

Czechia is better placed to score, but a goal is by no means guaranteed unless it improves its open-play offering. Choose BTTS no at -125 with BetMGM.

Switzerland vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina: BTTS Yes (+115) at BetMGM

The second of our Both Teams to Score tips covers Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina, where there is a greater possibility of zero clean sheets. Indeed, we envisage goals at both ends in this Group B clash, as these two European nations go head-to-head for only the second time.

Switzerland dominated against Qatar from virtually the first whistle to the last, yet it only managed a 1-1 draw. Its failure to score a second goal came back to haunt it, as Qatar notched an equalizer in second-half injury time. Having been so wasteful in front of goal on matchday one, it will not want to make the same mistake today.

Bosnia & Herzegovina did not create quite as much in its 1-1 tie with Canada, yet that was in part down to game state: because it held the lead between minutes 21 and 78, it adopted a primarily defensive approach. Even then, it still made the net bulge.

Bosnia & Herzegovina has now scored in 12 consecutive competitive matches, so it will back itself to beat Switzerland’s goalkeeper at least once. We recommend tipping BTTS yes at +115 with BetMGM when Switzerland faces Bosnia & Herzegovina today.

Canada vs. Qatar: BTTS No (-190) at BetMGM

There were plenty of positives for Canada to take from its performance against Bosnia & Herzegovina. The co-host was the better team and would have triumphed had it been more accurate with its finishing. It eventually scored through Cyle Larin in the 78th minute, but on another day Canada would have scored two or three goals. Even if current bookmaker prices and the Canada odds to win World Cup silverware reflect their long-shot status in the tournament, this squad is showing plenty of fight.

It is hard to see it drawing a blank against Qatar. Julen Lopetegui’s side may have restricted Switzerland to one goal in its first match, but that was down to luck more than judgment. Qatar gave up numerous chances, and although its goalkeeper was excellent between the posts, it mostly had Switzerland’s wayward finishing to thank.

Qatar will struggle to shut out Canada’s offense today. It will find things tough at the other end of the field as well. Qatar only had eight touches in the opposition box against Switzerland, while it created just one big chance. Before that, it failed to score in three matches on the bounce. Meanwhile, Canada has kept six clean sheets in its last nine games. Back BTTS no at -190 with BetMGM.

Mexico vs. South Korea: BTTS Yes (+100) at BetMGM

We conclude our BTTS predictions today by considering the latest game for co-host Mexico, a team whose strong start has already impacted the Mexico odds to win World Cup futures. Both teams did not score in the World Cup’s curtain-raiser, as Mexico beat South Africa 2-0 on the opening day. But we are likely to see the ball enter both nets when Javier Aguirre’s team takes on South Korea.

Mexico did well against South Africa, but its opponent was so poor that it did not really get out of second gear. South Korea will be tougher to play against, but Mexico has now scored in five consecutive games, as well as in nine of its last 10. That is a solid track record and one which suggests it will find the net again today, especially with home advantage to call upon.

South Korea played some terrific soccer in its 2-1 defeat of Czechia. Despite falling behind that night, it was the worthy winner. Son Heung-min did not fire up front, but Lee Kang-in and Hwang In-beom caught the eye with their displays. South Korea has now scored in three straight fixtures, while it has beaten the opposition goalkeeper in each of its last 10 competitive contests.

This promises to be an entertaining affair in Group A. We suggest BTTS yes at +100 with BetMGM.
