England vs. Argentina Prop Bets
England takes on Argentina with a place in the final of World Cup 2026 up for grabs. As the tournament's biggest test approaches, sportsbooks and analysts are scrambling to update their World Cup predictions ahead of kickoff.
Both Teams to Score ($0.53) at Polymarket
We kick off our rundown of the best daily World Cup team props by tipping both teams to score. England and Argentina have at least one thing in common: both sides are better at scoring goals than keeping them out. England’s defense has not been great all tournament, with Thomas Tuchel unable to name a settled back four throughout. It has not kept a clean sheet in the knockout phase.
Argentina has not been any better at the back. It kept clean sheets against Algeria and Austria in its first two matches, but that was not a sign of things to come. Argentina shipped two goals to Cape Verde and Egypt in the rounds of 32 and 16 respectively, while Switzerland also found the back of the net against it in the quarter-finals.
On the plus side, England and Argentina both pack a punch in forward areas. Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham have scored a combined 12 goals, which is more than the entire Spain squad at the time of writing. For Argentina, Lionel Messi has shown he is still up there with the best at the grand old age of 39, while Julian Alvarez came to the party with a stunning strike against Switzerland last weekend.
In each of England’s three knockout games, both teams have scored. The same is true for Argentina, which has not kept a clean sheet since matchday two of the group phase but has scored in 100 percent of its fixtures at this tournament. Go for both teams to score for $0.53 at Polymarket.

England to Score First ($0.47) at Polymarket
England fell behind to Norway last time out, just as it did against DR Congo in the round of 32. Thomas Tuchel will want to see his team make a faster start here, such as when it took the lead against Croatia and Mexico in the first half of those matches. Tuchel will encourage his players to circulate the ball at speed early on, in a bid to unsettle Argentina and disrupt its rhythm.
Like England, Argentina has a mixed record of getting out of the blocks quickly at this competition. It took the lead against Cape Verde and Switzerland, but then took its foot off the gas and allowed its opponents back into the match. In the 3-2 triumph over Egypt, Argentina did not only concede the first goal but the second one too.
This game is unlikely to finish 1-0, a scoreline we have not seen from either England or Argentina this summer. As mentioned above, we expect both teams to score, so the opening goal will not necessarily be decisive. But, needless to say, both Tuchel and Lionel Scaloni would prefer to see their team go 1-0 up than 1-0 down.
England is the better bet to draw first blood. Argentina looked tired against Switzerland, which was on top until Breel Embolo was sent off following a video assistant referee review. Argentina likes to play at a slow tempo, so if England can speed things up, it will be well positioned to open the scoring. Back the Three Lions to score the first goal at $0.47 at Polymarket.

Harry Kane to Score Anytime ($0.39) at Polymarket
There are several good options for the soccer player props odds, with Lionel Messi and Jude Bellingham two of the names who will attract plenty of bets in the anytime goalscorer market. The smart money, though, is arguably on Harry Kane and Julian Alvarez. The latter is listed at a shorter buy fee, but Kane is the better choice to make the net ripple.
The Bayern Munich frontman was quiet against Norway. He was not able to make his mark in the quarter-final, but he has had plenty of positive contributions elsewhere in the tournament. His best performance came in the round of 32 against DR Congo, when Kane scored twice to give his team a 2-1 win.
Bellingham, not Kane, has been England’s standout player at this World Cup, but the captain remains the most likely Three Lions goalscorer in the semis. He will spend more time in the penalty area than Kane, and his aerial ability could give him the edge over Lisandro Martinez, the relatively short Argentina center-back.
Kane’s track record speaks for itself and it does not take much for him to get his name on the scoresheet. Kane can get goals in many different ways, so it will not be easy for the Argentina backline to contain him. Choose Kane to score anytime at $0.39 with Polymarket, as England’s all-time record goalscorer aims to fire his nation into its first ever World Cup final on foreign soil.
