Boston Breach vs New York Subliners Prediction

Boston Breach vs New York Subliners Predictions

When the two sides met each other last month, the New York Subliners were favorites, but there wasn’t a lot between the two sides in terms of points, and picking Boston Breach felt like a decent punt. That’s not the case a month later.

The New York Subliners are strong favorites heading into this tie, and they’re a pretty safe bet. They’ve been in excellent form recently, which has seem the points gap between the two sides go from 15 last month to 65 now.

Boston Breach have a win rate just under 50% this season, whereas the Subliners are up there with the elite teams in the league – they’ve got a win rate of 61%. This is mighty impressive, considering no team has got a win rate greater than 63%, as things stand.

New York Subliners have also won all four of their matches against the Boston Breach, so there’s nothing to suggest things will be different this time out.

Boston Breach Can Never Get Over the Line Against New York Subliner

Boston Breach must hate the New York Subliners – not just because they’ve lost to the Subliners every time they’ve faced them, but because all the matches have ended 3-2 in the Subliners’ favor. On the one hand, this shows that the matches have always been tight and that Boston Breach are clearly strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the Subliners, but they’ve failed to take that next step on so many occasions that it is hard to have any faith in them when it really matters. It doesn’t help that the Boston Breach are also in relatively poor form compared to the Subliners.

The Boston Breach are a decent outfit with players who can turn up in different game modes. They have a satisfactory record on Hardpoint, with 35 wins and 33 losses this season. In this mode, Nero has an excellent kills per 10 minutes average of 25.9, but he doesn’t get enough protection from his teams, as the 0.95 KD suggests. If the team can find a way to let Nero wreak havoc without having one eye over his shoulder, they can do some damage against some of the stronger sides in the league.

They’ve struggled all year on Control, with a win-loss record of 16-23. The problems are of a similar nature as Nero averages 18.5 kills per 10 minutes but only has a KD of 0.89. This isn’t a worthy compromise as his aggressive style is not as threatening as it could be.

The one map where they’ve got the balance right is Search & Destroy. Here, Nero takes a backseat for Capsidal, who averages 0.77 kills per round with an excellent KD of 1.11. If Boston Breach want to get some joy out of this tie, they have to get some success here.

New York Subliners Could Go Places in This Sort of Form

New York Subliners have been in excellent form since their victory over Boston Breach last month. They’ll feel pretty confident heading into this tie, as this has been a lucky fixture for them. The team won the Pro AM Classic last year and went as far as the Grand Final in the Major 4, so the aim is fairly clear: defend the Pro AM Classic title and win a Major. Beating teams like Boston Breach along the way is part and parcel of the job.

The Subliners have been fantastic on Hard Point, with 42 wins and 20 losses this season. Most teams won’t enjoy facing them in this game mode. One of the reasons why Boston Brech have such a poor record against the Subliners is this mode. This is one of the modes Boston Breach have got some joy in this year, but the Subliners are almost unplayable in this mode.

Boston Breach also can’t capitalize on the Subliners’ weaknesses in Search & Destroy because they also struggle on this map. The Boston Breach also doesn't have anyone like PaulEhx on this game mode. He averages 0.72 kills per round, with a fantastic KD of 1.13. Unlike Nero, PauleEhx gets all the protection he needs from his teammates to do the business on the offensive end. Of course, they’ve not got a flawless record on this mode. Crimsix has struggled on Search & Destroy all season, with a KD of 0.89 and 0.62 kills per round.

There isn’t a lot between the two sides on Control. Subliners have recorded 22 wins and 20 losses this season on Control. HyDra has been outstanding all season, with 20.9 kills per 10 minutes and a KD of 1.13. Like the Boston Breach, the Subliners have many different weapons on their roster, but with more quality. This, ultimately, is the difference between the two sides. Everything Boston Breach do well, the Subliners do better.
