Both the European League and CIS playoffs near their conclusion and the competition is as tough as ever. Premier players need to be at their best for their teams to avoid elimination, and glory awaits those who survive all the way to Sunday’s grand finals showdown.
G2 survived one notorious AWPer by narrowly defeating Heretics, but can they repeat the feat against Zywoo and Team Vitality? The undefeated Spirit will need teamwork more than ever, especially against Virtus.Pros’ star players in a semi-final showdown.
To round it out, Astralis must get past the legendary FaZe Clan to punch their ticket to the grand finals. CS GO is guns blazing this weekend, and you won’t want to miss any of the action as the Road to Rio nears its conclusion.

Zywoo’s legendary skills have been on full display over the last two rounds of the tournament and scored over 30 kills in each round against Ninja in Pyjamas to set up the showdown against G2. Vitality will need a big-time effort from their top star, especially as G2 hopes to make a second straight appearance in the grand finals.
G2 is still reeling from the 2-0 stomping at the hands of Astralis and had their hands full with Heretics in the previous round. Though they were able to shut down Maka, huNter struggled to carry the load and KennyS continued to slump this deep in the tournament.
This is a tight match between two teams that are not familiar with each other, so it should be a fun match with plenty to look forward to.
There seems to be no stopping Astralis from reaching the grand finals, but FaZe is definitely going to have a say. While no one has had an answer for Astralis, DFS darling NiKo and the experience of Olafmeister could serve as an interesting foil ahead of the grand finals.
Conventional wisdom suggests that the combined firepower of device, magisk, and Xyp9x won’t be troubled by FaZe and their standout crew. In their last eight matches, Astralis has won seven with only one match going over two maps.
Even with Astralis’ momentum and excellent play from their squad, it’s going to take a huge effort to stop FaZe from ending their incredible run.
Virtus.Pro advances to the cusp of a grand finals appearance after a commanding win over Nemiga Gaming. Nemiga fell apart at the seams, but a sterner challenge awaits as the undefeated Spirit are far above what Virtus.Pro has faced all season.
There is not one standout player on Spirit, but their teamwork and game plan has made them more than formidable ahead of this match. If anything, Virtus’ Jame or Buster could post some decent individual numbers that hopefully make all the difference
With momentum on Spirit’s side, Virtus will have to hope their top players can be all the difference-maker in a match that could very well crown the eventual CIS champion.
We like G2, Astralis, and Spirit to win with all but the Astralis/G2 match going under 2.5 maps. Fantasy players would be advised to head to DraftKings and have Zywoo as captain with huNter, KennyS, NiKo, device and Jame as flex picks.
