Dplus KIA vs DRX Prediction

Dplus KIA vs DRX Prediction

Dplus KIA found themselves in less-than-ideal form ahead of the 2023 Summer Split, finishing the season in 4th place with a match tally of 11-7. On the other hand, DRX didn’t fare as well and finished in 6th place with a match tally of 6-12. The huge disparity in the ratio of wins to losses heavily skews this upcoming match in Dplus’s favor. Additionally, DRX fared poorly against DPlus KIA in the group stages and yet was able to salvage a few wins towards the end of the split, notably against T1, to surge ahead and finish the Summer Split in 6th place.

In their last four matches, Dplus KIA has a 100% success record, leaving us little reason to believe that DRX will be able to reverse their fortunes in the upcoming match. Dplus KIA has won 2 of their last five matches, while DRX has won three of their last five matches and is still rated as underdogs by oddsmakers.

The last time DRX had any kind of success against Dplus KIA was in the 2022 Spring Split of the LCK. Unfortunately, DRX has not experienced the same kind of form ever since and is yet to perform well enough to be on par with Dplus KIA, who looks set to secure a spot in the 2023 Worlds Swiss Stage.

DRX Gets a Second Chance

Despite not having much to write home about in the 2023 Summer Split, DRX was able to string together a few wins towards the end of the group stage and secure a sixth-place finish, despite their record of 6 wins and twelve losses. However, neither of those wins came against Dplus KIA, who seem to be at a different level to DRX, even if they aren’t at the very top of the sport today.

In the 2023 Summer Split, DRX had an aggregate of 16 wins and 27 losses, making for a win rate of 37%, with an average game duration of 30 minutes and 40 seconds. As a team, they dealt 1964 Damage Per Minute and drew first blood in 39.5% of their games. With 9.7 kills and 13.4 deaths per game on average, they had a Kill/death ratio of 1.4, with an average of 2.3 assists per kill.

On the economy front, DRX acquired an average of 1733 Gold Per Minute for a gild differential per minute of -159. When ahead at 15 minutes, they won 62.% of their games, making early game momentum crucial to their success. They destroyed the first tower in only 37.2% of their games. When playing as the Blue side, they won 9 and lost 14 while winning 7 and losing 13 as the Red.

The DRX roster has been stable for some time now, with the last change coming in May 2023, when substitute Bot laner Deokdam left the team. Replacing him were Mid laner Kyeahoo and Bot laner Paduck. Before his departure, the roster remained the same since February 2023.

Dplus KIA Title Hopes Still Alive

Winning this match will put Dplus KIA firmly in a good position to rally an effort at the 2023 World Championship starting with the Swiss Round. The team performed fairly well, with an effort putting them just short of the elite teams of the season. They won 24 and lost 16 games, for a win rate of 60%, with an average game duration of 31 minutes and 38 seconds.

Dplus KIA dealt an average of 2308 damage per minute and drew first blood in 47.5% of their matches, with 13.1 kills and 10.7 deaths per game, making for a kill/death ratio of 2, with 2.3 assists per kill. Dplus KIA won an impressive 95.5% of all games when ahead at 15 minutes, destroying the first tower in 45% of their games. They acquired 1859 gold per minute and held a gold differential of +78 per minute, even against top-ranked teams like Gen G. Esports and T1.

As the blue side, Dplus KIA won 14 and lost 9, while winning ten and losing seven as red.

Dplus KIA recently had a slew of roster shuffles within the ecosystems of their main and challenger teams. The most recent came on August seven when Coach Bubbling left for Dplus Challengers to be replaced by Acorn.
