Evil Geniuses vs Team Liquid Prediction

Evil Geniuses vs Team Liquid Predictions

Team Liquid were the bookies’ favorites when the two sides met last month, and that hasn’t changed for this game despite being on the losing side last time out. This is clearly due to Evil Geniuses’ four-match losing streak heading into this tie.

Despite that, Evil Geniuses are on the same number of points as Team Liquid. It’s important to remember that Evil Geniuses have won the LCS before and have a habit of turning up in the big games; however, they seem to have dropped a level last season and haven’t really fixed the issue this season. They were knocked out quite early in the spring playoffs, and their recent form suggests that there’s a wider problem.

Team Liquid didn’t make the playoffs last season. As far as they are concerned, sitting in third place on the standings is a relative success. If they want to elevate themselves, they must take advantage of Evil Geniuses’ poor form. This is a great opportunity for them to show the LCS fans that they’re the real deal.

There isn’t much in the odds; Team Liquid are favored to win this match by the slightest of margins. We think they’re worth opting for, as Evil Geniuses have been well below par in recent matches. Too often this year, we’ve judged Evil Geniuses’ based on their glowing reputation instead of their actual performances.

Evil Geniuses Have Been Way off It Lately

Evil Geniuses look in bad shape at the moment. Four losses in a row is unacceptable for a team that has won the LCS before and are regular contenders for the championship. Evil Geniuses are currently sitting in third place on the LCS table, which might give the impression that they’re stable, but this is far from the reality of their situation.

They were knocked out in round 2 of the playoffs last season after getting decimated 3-0 by Golden Guardians. When they used to underperform in the league stages in the past, most fans and experts would excuse it because they’d flip a switch in the playoffs, but last season showed that their good fortune might be running out.

They got the better of Team Liquid last month, which shows that they still have a lot of quality on their roster, but it’s no guarantee that they’ll win the championship or go deep into the tournament. It’s no guarantee that they’ll win this match, either.

Teams don’t seem to fear them as much as they used to. Teams have found a way to neutralize the impact of mid laner Jojupyun, who averages just 3.49 kills per game this year. He used to average over 4 kills per game not too long back. FBI is still averaging over 4.5 kills per game, but he can’t carry the entire team on his back.

The team doesn’t seem to have found a solution to this yet. The roster members and staff should have addressed this during the summer break. Their last match against Team Liquid was quite tight, but they won in the end. We don’t think they’ll get the rub of the green this time because the smallest inconveniences could remind them of their poor form and affect how they go about this game.

Team Liquid Have Improved Massively

Team Liquid were poor last season; they finished the league season in eighth place, with eight wins and 10 losses. They have three league games to go this season but have already managed more wins this season, showing how much better they’ve been this season.

Entering the playoffs shouldn’t be an issue this time, but they have an opportunity to elevate themselves even further this season, and beating the likes of Evil Geniuses in the league could go a long way to helping them achieve that. The strongest teams will test them in the playoffs, so this match is a great way to prepare for the same.

One of the reasons for their improvement this season has been trusting the players on their roster to come good. They didn’t add anyone in the summer, and they’ve been rewarded for their patience. However, they’ll ultimately need more quality if they want to win the big prize.

Hari and Yeon are solid players, with averages of over 3.3 kills per game this year, but that’s not likely to be enough to get deep into the playoffs. It might be enough for individual matches like the upcoming one, but they’ll need a bit more if they want to go toe-to-toe against Golden Guardian and Cloud9.

The bookies have given them the nod in this game, but part of this has to do with Evil Geniuses’ poor form. This is a game of great significance for Team Liquid: if they win this match, everyone on the team will start to believe the team is capable of beating the best teams, but a loss will crystalize the perception that they’re a team on the rise but nothing more.
