G2 currently sits in the upper echelons of professional League of Legends, with strong performances in LEC Winter and Spring 2023 and also in the Mid-Seasonal Invitational.
On the other hand, KOI has been struggling to find consistency and has also yet to be as active in competitions as their rivals. In their last LEC split, they could only finish 6th after finishing the Winter split in a solid third place. Read on for a bettors’ preview of the upcoming game, with insights into both teams’ current form and expected performance.

G2 and KOI have already been matched up in the current split of the LEC, a best-of-three contest. KOI were able to take home the opening round of the contest, but G2 adjusted their strategy to firmly cement their position as one of the top teams by winning the next two rounds in under 30 minutes. That particular match was just one in G2’s current 7-match winning streak.
Their strong performances in this tournament could foreshadow what’s to come in the next contest between these two teams. G2’s only loss in the group stage so far has come at the hands of MAD Lions, who were the winners of the Spring split - this indicates that they are clear levels even within the current top teams, and G2’s performances have placed them among the very best competitors in the LEC today.
KOI have only found themselves in the LEC due to their merger with Rogue. It remains to be seen how the team will perform under the new banner. Upon their entry into the league, KOI have placed 6th and 3rd in the last Spring and Winter splits of the LEC. It might be some time before the team can establish a rhythm and string together a consistent series of results. Prior to the merger, Rogue was a regular fixture in the upper rankings of the LEC.
The team had a quality showing in 2022, finishing the Summer split in first place and the Spring split in second. Even in 2021, Rogue finished in 3rd and 2nd across both splits of the LEC, indicating that they possess all the qualities required to win a league as highly competitive as the LEC. With a little more time, the effects of the merger will subside, and KOI will once again emerge as a top contender in the league.
Since being founded in 2013, the Berlin-based team has racked up accolades by winning several editions of the LEC and even taking home the coveted and highly prestigious world Championship in 2019. However, in late 2022 and early 2023, the team experienced a slight dip in performance that started when they finished 11th place in the 2022 Worlds. However, they quickly turned it around and took home an emphatic win in the 2023 LEC Winter split.
They would have another slight dip in form as they went through the year, which could be attributed to the departure of Flakked and Targamas, who left at the end of 2022. However, replacement players took no time to get up to speed, and G2 remained as strong as they had ever been.
Leading the effort for G2 is star top laner BrokenBlade, who has been in the squad only since late 2021. He has dealt 459 damage per minute in the current season and has four solo kills so far. He’s joined by jungler Yike, who has dished out slightly more damage at 426 per minute, along with one solo kill. Together with the rest of the squad, the pair have given G2 a total of eight wins in the current season, for a massive win rate of 88.9%.
One year ago, Rogue won the summer split of the LEC by soundly beating G2 in a 3:0 washout. However, it was later announced that KOI would merge with Rogue, granting them direct access to the LEC. While Larssen, Comp, and Malrang have been retained from the original squad, they are joined by Szygenda and Advienne in the new squad under the KOI banner.
It appears that the team has yet to discover optimal chemistry, as it finished third in the Winter split and sixth in the Spring split of 2023. The team that beat them in their last group stage game of the summer split was their upcoming opponent, G2 Esports.
Jungler Malrang’s stats across the current split indicate the team’s overall performance. He has only been able to deal 263.9 damage per minute, with only a single solo kill to his name. Overall, it would appear that KOI is waiting for the moment when something clicks with the new team and they’re able to build up some momentum that will allow them to push through the competition.
