  • Team Liquid and 100 Thieves will face each other in the first round of the lower bracket, with the losing team risking elimination from the tournament.
  • With ten wins and eight losses so far, Team Liquid was initially in the Upper Bracket of the quarterfinals before losing 3-1 to NRG, who sit one place below them in the overall standings.
  • 100 Thieves must score a win to guarantee a spot in the quarterfinals. The odds are against them as they have lost more matches than they have won and are currently 0-2 against Team Liquid, who seem to be in much better form than predicted earlier.

Liquid vs 100 Thieves Prediction

Team Liquid vs 100 Thieves Predictions

100 Thieves and Team Liquid are squaring off against each other yet again, for the third time in the 2023 Summer split of the LCS. However, unlike their last two matches, the stakes are much higher this time around: the losing team will be eliminated from the tournament.

Team Liquid continues on its upward surge in form. Throughout the group stages, they were able to find some consistency and chip away at getting better results, eventually winning enough matches to place themselves fourth in the overall standings. Their performances are consistent with how they played last season. They finished the 20223 Summer split in fourth place and came in third place in Spring.

100 Thieves have had few highlights over the course of this edition of the LCS tournament. Despite having 11 losses, the Thieves were able to eke out enough winning performances to place themselves in round 1 of the lower bracket of the current split. Accordingly, they have a shot at redeeming themselves against Team Liquid, with an opportunity to salvage a strong result in the face of two defeats and knock their opponents out of the tournament.

Unfortunately for 100 Thieves, the stats rarely lie, and Team Liquid is in a much stronger position overall. It should be no surprise that oddsmakers have rated 100 Thieves as nearly four-to-one underdogs in the upcoming match. With two wins over the American team, Team Liquid will be eager to put in another strong showing at the LCS.

The Stakes Are High for 100 Thieves

Based on their recent performances, it’s a minor miracle that 100 Thieves have found themselves in the quarterfinals of this split of the LCS. It seems they find themselves in an ‘all or nothing’ position, with a tremendous opportunity to knock Team Liquid out of the tournament and avenge their two losses.

Ideally, 100 Thieves would have liked to beat Team Liquid in their last contest. Still, it was just not meant to be: Team Liquid has been surging all season and is just a few wins away from finding themselves in the company of the highest-tier of teams in the LCS in Cloud9, Golden Guardians, and Evil Geniuses.

In their earlier face-offs, the sportsbooks had rated them as near equals. However, Team Liquid has proven to be the much stronger performer in this edition of the tournament. 100 Thieves must discover something special to score the elimination and advance to the quarterfinals.

100 Thieves have a win rate of 37% in this split of the LCS. Interestingly, when ahead at 15 minutes, the team has a win rate of 83.3%. 100 Thieves has dealt an average of 1916 per minute and drawn first blood an average of 42.1% of the time, with an average of 9.3 kills per game.

Team Liquid Will Be out for Blood

With two wins over their opponents within the same tournament, Team Liquid are bound to be well aware of the ins and outs of 100 Thieves’ strategy and playstyle. While it’s impossible to rule out any upsets or wild surprises, it’s safe to say that Team Liquid are likely to take another win and move closer to the finals of the LCS.

Team Liquid finished the 2023 Spring split in 8th place, which is one of their worst performances in recent times. Historically, Team Liquid have always doubled down on their efforts after performing poorly at a tournament. If their current performances are anything to go by, it’s safe to say that it’s likely that they will be eager to make their presence felt against 100 Thieves.

Since 2020, Team Liquid has scored two 2nd place finishes, two 3rd place finishes, and a single fourth place finish. They have just fallen short of winning the tournament, and this is sure to give them an additional boost of motivation in the current split.

In the current tournament, Team Liquid has dealt 2542 damage per minute, which is significantly higher than their rivals in 100 Thieves. They have also scored first blood 61.1 of the time and averaged 14.8 kills per game. It seems that the only way 100 Thieves can win is by getting the lead early and snowballing their way to a victory. Team Liquid, when ahead at 15 minutes, has won only 69.2% of the time, in contrast to 100 Thieves’ 83.3%.
