Seattle Surge vs Boston Breach Prediction

Seattle Surge vs Boston Breach Predictions

There isn’t a lot between these two sides as far as points are concerned. The Seattle Surge have played two games more and are 20 points ahead. Despite that, Boston Breach are pretty clear favorites for this tie, according to the bookmakers.

There is little to no value in betting on Boston Breach. The difference in quality between the two sides isn’t big enough to warrant a clear favorite. Not to mention Seattle Surge currently have a slightly better win percentage (52%) than Boston Breach (48%).

The one thing Boston Breach have on their side is form. They’ve won three of their last five matches, whereas Seattle Surge have lost their last three matches. This is certainly something that the bookmakers have taken into account, but this has more to do with the fixture list, as Seattle Surge played some strong teams recently.

It should be a time game between two evenly matched sides, but we think Seattle Surge will do enough to end their losing streak.

Seattle Surge Have Hit a Rough Patch

Seattle Surge have lost their last three matches and come into this game under a lot of pressure. The 3-0 loss to Toronto Ultra last week was highly concerning, but it can’t get much worse going forward.

This side won the Major 3 last season, were runners-up in the Kickoff Classic final, and losers final in the CDL Champs 2022. They can put in far better performances but haven’t played to that standard this season.

Despite that, they have a better win rate than their upcoming opponents this season and have a solid record on all the game modes. They haven’t really dominated any mode but are pretty competitive on all of them.

The win rate is over 50% on Hardpoint and Control and just under 50% on Search & Destroy. They’ve also got a superstar in Pred. He has a highly impressive kills per 10 minutes record of 27.6 and 20.9 on Hardpoint and Control, respectively.

However, teams seem to have figured out that stopping Pred can reduce the Seattle Surge’s chances of winning a game. Seattle Surge have struggled to form a strategy to combat this. Of course, other members also need to start pulling in their weight. The likes of Accuracy and Mack haven’t been playing up to the standard required of a team like Seattle Surge.

Despite their recent struggles, they have an elite member in their squad, a better record on most game modes than Boston Breach, a greater pedigree, and a better win rate in a poor season than Boston Breach. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Seattle Surge to regain their confidence.

Boston Breach Have Been in Decent Nick

The Boston Breach have won three of their last five matches. They’re certainly in much better form than their upcoming opponents, and they’ll be strongly motivated to win this match, as it will reduce the gap on the table between themselves and the Seattle Surge.

On paper, there’s a big difference in quality between the two sides, but Boston Breach have got some momentum heading into this tie, whereas their opponents don’t. Boston Breach’s highlight last season was losing the losers final in the Major 2; if we compare the recent achievements of the two sides, there’s only one winner, but there’s a reason why the bookmakers have Boston Breach winning this tie.

They have a versatile squad with stars for each game mode. Their record on Hardpoint is good, with 35 wins and 33 losses this season. Nero has a fantastic kills per 10 minutes average of 25.9 on this game mode, but he can be a bit vulnerable defensively, as the 0.95 KD suggests. He isn’t as dangerous as Pred on this mode, but he’s definitely someone the Seattle Surge need to keep an eye on.

There are a bit vulnerable on Control, where they have a win-loss record of 16-23. Even though Nero averages 18.5 kills per 10 minutes in this game mode, his KD of 0.89 is quite concerning. His aggression can sometimes get the better of him, but his teammates also need to do a better job of protecting him.

If the Seattle Surge play to their ceiling, it’s hard to see Boston Breach win this tie, but the Surge are a bit all over the place currently. Boston Breach won’t get many better opportunities to lay down a marker this season.
