We are looking at some of the league’s young sluggers for today’s home run prop bets. With several of them facing struggling pitchers, the stage is set for some fireworks on this holiday weekend.

The young Nationals star has broken out in 2025 and currently ranks sixth in the league in home runs (23) and RBIs (67). With a solid .292 average, it is looking like the 22-year-old is well on his way to becoming a perennial MLB MVP candidate.
James Wood is a solid home run prop bet option most days, but we especially love his chances against Red Sox starter Walker Buehler (5-6, 5.45 ERA, 1.58 WHIP). The veteran had a brutal June, going 1-3 with an 11.07 ERA. That run saw him give up seven home runs over 20 ⅓ innings.
With Buehler struggling to keep the ball in the park, we love Wood’s chances to deliver another long ball tonight.

The Red Sox shortstop has been scorching hot at the plate over the last week. He owns a .542 average with two home runs and 13 RBIs in that span. The run has set him on a pace to hit more home runs than he has since 2019.
Story will be facing Nationals starter Mitchell Parker (5-8, 4.63 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) to begin this game. The 25-year-old has been a bit erratic, especially when it comes to giving up home runs. While he managed to not allow one in his previous start, he had given up five in the three before that.
Parker and Story have never faced each other before, but we believe the star shortstop’s hot bat will give him the edge.

If you are looking for a home run prop with a big payout, we suggest taking a look at Rockies second baseman Thairo Estrada. The 29-year-old made his season debut at the end of May and has become a reliable source of offense for this bad Rockies team.
Estrada isn’t known for his power, but he is capable of registering double-digit home run totals. He hit his second of the season on Thursday, thanks to a hot streak that has seen him post a .462 average over the last seven days. With the game being played at Coors Field, we think he has the best chance to deliver a longshot win for bettors today.
The White Sox will have Jonathan Cannon (2-7, 4.59 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) on the mound today. The 25-year-old has struggled to find consistency in 2025 and has begun to falter with the long ball. He has allowed five over his last three starts, which is a bad sign as he heads to the most home run-friendly field in the league.
