First up on our list of MLB best bets for Tuesday is the matchup between the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies. The Orioles come into this game having won three games in a row, with a very impressive road record under their belts. But we like the Phillies to come through this game with a win at home, as they look to even up this three-game series at a game apiece.
A big reason to like the Phillies to win on Tuesday is that Taijuan Walker is on the mound for them to start this game. Walker has been a real bright spot for the Phillies this season, posting an 11-4 record so far this year with an ERA of 4.11. He has the statistical edge over Orioles starter Kyle Gibson, who is 9-6 with a 4.76 ERA, and a higher WHIP than that of Walker.
For Philadelphia to come through and win this game, they will need to provide Walker with some run support. The Phillies have been held to two or fewer runs in three of their last five games, losing four of their last five along the way. But we expect their bats to wake up a bit in this contest, and for the Phillies to find a way to come away with a win at home against one of the hottest teams in baseball.

An all-Chicago matchup is set to take place in Major League Baseball on Tuesday night, as the Chicago Cubs will visit the Chicago White Sox. Both of these teams are below .500 on the season and need to stack up some wins if they want any chance to work their way into the Wild Card spots in their respective leagues. Here, we expect the Cubs to come away with the win in the battle of the North and South sides of Chicago.
First, the Cubs have a pitching advantage going into this contest against the White Sox, as Kyle Hendricks takes on Michael Kopech in the starting pitching matchup. Hendricks enters this matchup with a 3.38 ERA, as he has only allowed more than three earned runs in two starts so far this season. While his record sits at just 3-4 on the season, he has been a solid starting arm for the Cubs.
Kopech, meanwhile, is 4-8 on the season with a 4.29 ERA. He did pitch well in his last starting, snapping a three-start losing streak by picking up a win over the New York Mets. But the Mets have been struggling mightily this season, and beating the Mets is not enough to convince us that he is going to continue to pitch at a high level in this contest.

The final MLB best bet on our card for Tuesday comes in the NL Central showdown between the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee comes into this game with a slim 1.5-game lead over Cincinnati in the NL Central standings. As for this contest, look for a low-scoring affair to play out and for this game to go under the total of eight runs.
A huge reason to bet the under in this game is the starting pitching matchup, as Andrew Abbott and Corbin Burnes will lock horns in Milwaukee. Abbott is 5-2 with a stellar 2.10 ERA, while Burnes is 9-5 with a 3.49 ERA. Both of these pitchers have been excellent for most of this season and will continue to be just that to keep this game under the total.
Also helping the under to come in here is the fact that the Brewers are not as much of a threat offensively as other first-place teams in baseball. They are tied for 24th in MLB in runs scored in 2023. Expect the Reds to shut down the Brew Crew and for Milwaukee to reciprocate en route to a game that falls short of the eight-run total.
