Our first MLB best bet for Tuesday comes from Los Angeles, where the LA Dodgers will host the Minnesota Twins. These two teams played a thrilling 12-inning affair on Monday night, with the Dodgers winning 9-8 after those extra innings. Here, we think that the extra innings will help the Dodgers, especially given the pitching matchup that is set to take place in this contest.

For the Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw is getting the start, as he enters with a 6-2 record and a 2.36 ERA. Both teams will be leaning heavily on their starters in this game, as their bullpens were used pretty aggressively to get through an extra-inning game the night before. That gives the edge to the Dodgers here, as they send a pitcher to the mound in Kershaw who has shot up the NL Cy Young award odds list despite his age early this season.

Bailey Ober is set to start this game for the Twins, who has been solid in his own right so far this year. Ober is 2-0 with a 1.85 ERA to begin this season, but he has only thrown 24.1 innings in 2023 to this point. That could become a problem later in the game, as he is unlikely to have the longevity that Kershaw has in this contest, allowing the Dodgers to pick on a tired bullpen down the stretch.

New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook

My Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (+110)

Next up is another run line favorite, as we will take the Toronto Blue Jays to win and cover the run line against the New York Yankees. The Yankees took the first game of this series on Monday, with Aaron Judge clubbing two home runs for the visiting team. But things should be different on Tuesday, as the Blue Jays send one of the best arms in the American League to the mound in Kevin Gausman.

Gausman is another pitcher who has moved up the list of Cy Young favorites in his league, as he has been off to a great start in the AL East. Gausman is 2-3 on the season but his 3.38 ERA is more than respectable in the toughest division in baseball. He has a favorable matchup here against Domingo German, who is also 2-3, but has an ERA of 4.00 heading into Tuesday’s clash between the third and fourth-place teams in the AL East.

With Gausman on the mound in this game, things should be tougher on Aaron Judge and the rest of the Yankees hitters than they were on Monday night. The Yankees scored seven runs last night against the Blue Jays. Expect Toronto to keep the Yankee bats in check here to even this series at a game apiece, covering the run line along the way.

Cleveland Guardians vs Chicago White Sox

Finally, we like one more favorable pitching matchup to close out our slate of MLB best bets on Tuesday. Here, the Cleveland Guardians get the nod, as they should be able to take care of business on the road against the Chicago White Sox. With Shane Bieber on the mound for the Guardians, Cleveland has a huge edge in the pitching department against their AL Central rivals from the Southside.

So far this season, Bieber is 3-1 with a 2.61 ERA. While his numbers are not quite as flashy as Cy Young contenders like Shohei Ohtani and Gerrit Cole, they are certainly better than those of White Sox starter Lance Lynn. Lynn is 1-5 on the season with a whopping 7.51 ERA on the year, and he is one of the many reasons that the White Sox come into this contest at 14-28 for the 2023 season.
