Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 05 27

Happy Memorial Day, everybody! This is always a weird day for baseball with far more day games than an average Monday. That made it a little tricky to pick prop bets because things are a little out of whack. But we’ve managed to stick with some familiar names and find a handful of bets we like for Monday’s games. The odds are coming from DraftKings Sportsbook, which is now offering new users a no-sweat bet of up to $1,500 on their first bet.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Nationals vs. Braves (4:00 PM, EST)

Marcell Ozuna Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115) at DraftKings

The Braves may have lost Ronald Acuna Jr., but they still have Ozuna to anchor their lineup. Ozuna has been Atlanta’s best hitter all season and has 25 extra-base hits in 50 games. He's also hitting .311 on the year, so a game with multiple hits is also an option for him. While Ozuna has never faced Washington starter Mitchell Parker, he has crushed lefties this year to the tune of a .356 average and an OPS of 1.104. With those numbers alone, it’s worth taking a chance on Ozuna.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Cardinals vs. Reds (4:00 PM, EST)

Lance Lynn Under 3.5 ER (-135) at DraftKings

The 37-year-old Lynn has a 3.68 ERA on the season, so we’re a little surprised as to why the over/under here is 3.5 earned runs. For the most part, he has respectable numbers against most of the Cincinnati hitters he’ll face on Monday. Granted, Lynn endured a tough stretch earlier this month when he allowed four runs in three straight starts. But he bounced back in his last start, tossing six innings against the Orioles, allowing one unearned run on just two hits. In his 10 starts, Lynn has allowed three runs or less six times. With this being a day game, we think he’ll be fine and is getting good odds to hold the Reds to three runs or less.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Giants vs. Phillies (5:00 PM, EST)

Taijuan Walker Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-175) at DraftKings

Striking out batters hasn’t come easily to Walker this season. He’s also struggled to pitch deep into games, throwing just eight total innings across his last two starts. But an over/under of 3.5 strikeouts is still too low. Despite his inconsistency this year, Walker has recorded at least four strikeouts in four of his five starts. He’s coming off a five-strikeout performance in his last start despite failing to complete five innings. With a low bar for this game, we’ll take it.

J.T. Realmuto 2+ Hits (+220) at DraftKings

The Phillies have a chance to take advantage of facing Blake Snell, who has an ERA of 11.40 over his first four starts. For whatever reason, the reigning Cy Young winner is yet to settle in this season. Therefore, we wanted to target at least one Philadelphia hitter, deciding on Realmuto, who is 4 for 15 with two extra-base hits in his career against Snell. He’s also red-hot right now, collecting multiple hits in three of his last five games. In fact, Realmuto has a 15-game hitting streak with seven multi-hit games during that stretch, so we’ll gladly take the plus odds for a hot hitter.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Marlins vs. Padres (6:40 PM, EST)

Manny Machado Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140) at DraftKings

This hasn’t been Machado's best season, but he has at least one hit in eight of his last nine games. In those nine games, Machado has gone over 1.5 total bases five times. He’s also 2 for 3 in his career against Miami starter Trevor Rogers. While that’s not a huge sample size, it’s a good sign for a hitter like Machado who’s heating up and is always a threat to hit an extra-base hit. Given all of that, there is good value in backing Machado on Memorial Day.
