Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Pitching Heavy Props for Tuesday
Tuesday is a day for pitchers to shine. To be fair, it could also be a day for pitchers to struggle. Either way, all five of our prop bets today are focused on pitchers. We’re backing some and fading others, but somehow the value we found in Tuesday’s games was based on pitching. The odds we’re using are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is giving new customers a $1,000 risk-free bet on their first wager.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Guardians vs. Tigers (6:40 PM, EST)
Kenta Maeda Over 5.5 Hits Allowed (+104) at Caesars
Maeda has become one of the easiest pitchers in baseball to fade. He’s coming off a dreadful outing in which he allowed nine runs on nine hits over 3.2 innings against the Twins. While Maeda had some decent outings in May and June, he’s now allowed at least six hits in his last three starts. Maeda also has some disappointing numbers against several of Cleveland’s hitters, so it’s hard to be confident that he’s going to turn things around. With plus odds on fading a pitcher with a 6.71 ERA, we’re on board.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Yankees vs. Rays (6:50 PM, EST)
Ryan Pepiot Over 2.5 Walks (-108) at Caesars
Pepiot has started to pitch better lately, although walks continue to be a concern for him. Over his last four starts, he’s walked 12 batters despite only completing five full innings once during that span. In 15 starts, he’s only walked three or more batters six times. But since most of those starts have come lately, we’re going to fade Pepiot on Tuesday. Keep in mind the Yankees are one of the best teams in baseball at drawing walks, so they’re not going to be overly aggressive against a pitcher who has struggled with his command lately, which is why we like this bet.
Carlos Rodon Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-123) at Caesars
Rodon has been dreadful in his last four starts, as his ERA has risen from 2.93 to 4.45. The caveat is that he’s actually improving his strikeout numbers. Rodon has struck out at least seven batters in three of those four starts, failing to do so only in the start when he got pulled in the fourth inning. With the way he’s been pitching lately, as long as Rodon can finish five full innings, he should end up with a healthy strikeout total against a Tampa lineup that ranks toward the top in the majors in striking out.

Michael Wacha Under 2.5 ER (-160) at Caesars
Unfortunately, we’re no longer getting favorable odds with Wacha, who has been one of the most consistent and underrated pitchers in baseball this year. However, we’re not going to jump off the bandwagon at this point. Wacha has gone eight straight starts giving up two earned runs or less dating back to the early part of May. That includes allowing just one run in three consecutive starts since returning from the IL. Tuesday is a homecoming for Wacha, who spent his first seven seasons with the Cardinals. He should feel comfortable pitching in St. Louis and there’s no reason to think his string of quality starts will stop now.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Mariners vs. Padres (9:40 PM, EST)
Logan Gilbert Under 5.5 Hits Allowed (-129) at Caesars
We were ready to go under 4.5 hits with Gilbert on Tuesday, so we’re absolutely going to take under 5.5 hits, even against a talented San Diego lineup. Despite giving up six hits in his last start, Gilbert had allowed four hits or less in three consecutive starts prior to that. Keep in mind Gilbert has a 2.91 ERA on the season and posted a 1.51 ERA in June. Despite an uneven start against Baltimore, Gilbert should be able to get back on track quickly. He also has strong numbers in his career against San Diego’s top hitters, giving us faith in Gilbert pitching well against the Padres.
