Logan Webb Under 6.5 Hits Allowed (-142) at Caesars

After scoring 13 runs on Wednesday, the Braves are back in a groove offensively. But that has a chance to end rather quickly against Webb on Thursday. He’s allowed just two runs over his last 21.2 innings, including back-to-back starts when he allowed just four hits in each outing. Frankly, we were open to taking Webb to give up under 4.5 hits. But we’re happy to take under 6.5 hits because most members of the Atlanta lineup have struggled against Webb throughout their careers.

Nick Pivetta Over 1.5 ER (-151) at Caesars

Since the start of July, Pivetta has had two starts in which he threw at least six scoreless innings. But other than that, there’s no reason for his standard over/under to be 1.5 earned runs allowed. In fact, he hasn’t even pitched well enough to complete five innings in two of his last three starts. That makes taking over 1.5 ER an easy bet, albeit not a lucrative one. While the Orioles have just nine total runs in their last three games, they’re a competent offensive team that’s too good to think that Pivetta can walk all over them, leading us to fade Boston’s starter.

Rafael Devers Home Run (+380) at Caesars

It’s been a little while since Devers last hit a home run, but he already has 25 this season, so he’s due. With three doubles in his last six games, it’s not as if his power has disappeared in recent days. He also has a favorable matchup on Wednesday against Baltimore’s Zach Eflin. Devers is 6 for 13 with three doubles and two home runs in his career against Eflin. That’s an excellent track record against a pitcher who hasn’t exactly been immune to giving up the long ball, so this is a good spot to target Devers for a home run.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Nationals vs. Phillies (6:40 PM, EST)

Zack Wheeler Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-104) at Caesars

We would have considered going over 7.5 strikeouts with Wheeler, so we’ll happily take over 6.5 strikeouts with relatively even odds. Granted, the Nationals are one of the toughest teams in baseball to strike out. But Wheeler has plenty of strikeouts against several Washington hitters in his career. He’s also hit at least seven strikeouts in five of his last six starts. In fact, he’s reached at least eight strikeouts in each of his last two starts, so getting to seven on Thursday seems reasonable.

Marcus Semien Over 0.5 Runs (+133) at Caesars

Semien has had some ups and downs in August, although he figures to have a favorable matchup on Thursday against Minnesota’s Bailey Ober. He’s 5 for 9 with three extra-base hits in his career against Ober, so he should find himself on base multiple times in this game. Semien also has some heavy hitters in the Texas lineup behind him who are capable of driving him in. While Ober has pitched well lately, we can’t assume that he’ll shut down the Rangers, enabling one of the team’s top table-setters to score a run.
