Tigers vs. Braves - Framber Valdez vs. Bryce Elder (12:16 PM EST)

The Detroit Tigers are trying to avoid a sweep after dropping the first two games of this series without putting up much of a fight. If they cannot find a way to bounce back quickly, their AL Central winner odds will undoubtedly take a massive hit as they lose ground in the division.

This matchup sets up well for a scoreless first inning due to the starting pitching. Framber Valdez will face Bryce Elder, and both have been strong this season.

Valdez is a veteran arm with plenty of quality. He is 2-1 with a 3.41 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP.

Elder has quietly been one of Atlanta’s most consistent starters, helping the Braves get off to a strong start in 2026. He is 3-1 with a 1.95 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP.

Offensively, both teams have power at the top of the lineup, but early start times often favor pitchers. Detroit has struggled to generate early runs on the road, while Atlanta, despite its talent, hasn’t been particularly sharp in this interleague series.

Giants vs. Phillies - Logan Webb vs. Christopher Sanchez (12:35 PM EST)

The Philadelphia Phillies have fired Rob Thomson and are trying to recover from a horrid start to the season. Despite their talent, the roster has significantly underperformed, forcing oddsmakers and analysts to drastically adjust their World Series odds and predictions for the club moving forward.

Cristopher Sanchez has been strong this season and will be key to this NRFI. The Giants have dangerous hitters like Rafael Devers at the top of the lineup, but Sanchez has the tools to neutralize them.

He is 2-2 with a 2.94 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP. While he has allowed 44 hits in 33.2 innings, his strikeout ability helps him escape jams, which is critical in a spot like this.

Logan Webb will take the mound for the Giants. He is 2-3 with a 4.86 ERA and has been slightly worse at home. Still, the Phillies have struggled at the plate.

They’re batting just .223 as a team with a .298 OBP, which isn’t enough to generate early offense.
