With the New York Mets struggling to play at a competitive level, George Kirby has a great opportunity to put together a dominant performance by creating Whiffs at a higher rate. Later in the night, we turn our attention towards the Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds with a pair of productive arms battling it out against two underwhelming lineups.

Best NRFI Bets Today 2026 06 03 Mariners George Kirby

New York Mets vs. Seattle Mariners - Freddy Peralta vs. George Kirby (3:40 PM, EST)

Expect the New York Mets to continue to struggle with making contact against George Kirby, resulting in an early exit in the first inning.

Under 0.5 Run (-100) at BetMGM Sportsbook

Since the start of the regular season, the New York Mets have severely underwhelmed on offense, residing near the bottom of the board in Hit Rate, RBIs, Runs Scored, and in On Base Percentage. Their lack of production on offense brings in a higher amount of variance in their contests, plummeting them down the NL East division standings. Consequently, sportsbooks have adjusted accordingly, causing a noticeable shift in the latest NL East odds.

Unfortunately for the Mets, their struggles on offense will be on full display against the Seattle Mariners George Kirby, battling it out against an arm who is averaging an ERA of 3.77 and a FIP of 3.49. Especially with the Mariners back end excelling in coverage, surrounding Kirby with a group who ranks sixth overall in Fielding Percentage.

On the other side of the field, Freddy Peralta is projected to get the start for the Mets, a productive arm in their rotation who is averaging an ERA of 3.55 while generating more than one Strikeout per inning. With Seattle also ranking near the bottom of the board in Hit Rate, expect Peralta to continue to avoid contact while aggressively attacking the strike zone and hold the Mariners out of scoring position.

Kansas City Royals vs. Cincinnati Reds - Stephen Kolek vs. Chase Burns (7:10 PM, EST)

The Kansas City Royals must take advantage of their favorable matchup against the Cincinnati Reds if they want to avoid falling down the AL Central division standings. Maximizing these head-to-head opportunities is crucial for keeping their AL Central odds competitive as the postseason race heats up.

Under 0.5 Run (-100) at BetMGM Sportsbook

After going 3-7 in their last ten games, the Kansas City Royals odds of winning the AL Central have plummeted, now sitting 11 games back from the Cleveland Guardians for first in the division standings. Their low level of play on offense has held them back from being a well rounded unit, ranking well below league average in Hit Rate and in On Base Percentage.

Heading into Wednesday night’s contest against the Cincinnati Reds, expect the Royals struggles on offense to continue to persist as they face off against Chase Burns who is averaging an ERA of 1.96 and a WHIP of 0.964. The Reds back end will also lower the probability of Burns getting hurt by an Error, fielding a unit who ranks in the top half of the board in Defensive Efficiency.

Locked into a duel with Burns is Stephen Kolek, an aggressive arm for the Royals who is averaging an ERA of 3.48 and a WHIP of 0.935 while generating less than one Hit Against per inning. With the Reds grading out poorly in the same previously mentioned offensive metrics, expect Kolek to exploit their lack of contact ability at the plate and keep a clean sheet in the first inning.

Best YRFI Bets Today

  • Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks - Shohei Ohtani vs. Zac Gallen - With Zac Gallen on the mound, expect the reigning World Series champions to get off to a hot start by taking advantage of an arm who is averaging a WHIP of 1.466 and an ERA of 5.16. Early dominance like this is exactly why the Dodgers continue to sit at the top of the World Series odds boards.

  • Toronto Blue Jays vs. Atlanta Braves - Patrick Corbin vs. Grant Holmes - With Patrick Corbin giving up over one Hit Against per inning, negative regression looms large over the Toronto Blue Jays pitcher as he faces off against the Atlanta Braves who currently lead the league in Contact Rate and in RBIs.
